Well my trip to Target/CVS to get the flu shot was a no go. Apparently there was a "incident" and the tech giving shots was called away. So hmmmm. I will try again tomorrow. Likely not at the Target CVS since of course I spent too much money at Target.
I have to bitch for a second about the TP situation. Apparently Texans again are going nuts. They had very little TP left for some unknown reason. I know it cause there is a spike but the spike is no different than July when we had TP. Calm the fuck down people.
I finally got my first Causebox yesterday, and I really liked it! I am not sure I really want to commit to paying for a full year subscription up front, but I think I'd like to get boxes in the future. Everything in it seems to be really nice quality. My H, who is like the least materialistic person ever, kind of rolled his eyes at me that I got it, though. I've never done a subscription box like this before, but it was fun to get some surprises in the mail!
I started a new anxiety medication last week, and I slept through the night the last 2 nights (or at least, until around 6am). Could be coincidence, but I hope not! I usually wake up at least once to pee, and usually multiple times to rearrange or whatever. I did sleep really poorly Sunday night, so it may not be a miracle cure, but I hope that it's related. It would be really nice to sleep like a normal human.
My first causebox has shipped, and I’m tracking it across the country every day, lol. I can’t wait to get it!
I found out yesterday that my dog has a malignant tumor. We're taking her to get xrays today to see if it's spread. I'm so scared. She is such a sweet love. We also literally got the news one year to the day since we had to put our foster dog to sleep.
I’m so sorry! I hope it’s treatable and you have more time with her.
I realize I have been bitching about my kitchen for months but you guys, it has been since July 3 since we've had a fully functioning kitchen and it has been months since we've been down to the studs and plywood floors. Last month, most of the electrical work got done but it took the county until Monday to come out to inspect. This week the drywall is finally going back up and MAYBE, maybe we might get to have them start hanging cabinets Friday. I have no idea what the status of our flooring is and the countertops and backsplash are seeming like a 2021 thing. I feel like some people have built entire houses in that time.
I truly don’t know how you have been managing. I really hope things get done as soon as they possibly can for you.
I can’t even handle out of the house repairs/construction on our roof so I think I would never recover if my kitchen was tied up so long (especially now!).

One good thing about Causebox is that you can skip a whole box, extending your subscription if you want. I’ve only had one box I was really blah about and I’ve had it for two years? Going on three maybe? My in-laws give me a sub for Hanukkah every year.
The roofers aren’t too bad. They are almost drowning themselves out with banda which is 100% more pleasant and doesn’t make the dog bark as much as hearing them talk does. I guess she’d rather hear a concert than a conversation taking place right over her head.
I looked like a lunatic at the grocery store today. I got everything for Thanksgiving on Sunday and food for the next 3 weeks or so. I could barely see over the cart. Then the bagging area (Aldi) was closed so I had to bag it all at my car. Thankfully I have a hatch back but I had to keep the cart from rolling away by hooking my foot around the wheel 😳

Oh dear, people are asking our college's president if they still have to wear masks if we're going to have a vax by the end of 2020? I'm sure these are people who won't get the vax when it's avb. after 2020.
I'm trying no coffee today, so far it's helping a little bit with anxiety.
I need new shows to watch on my own. I started "A Teacher" on Hulu, and I'm behind on TM2 and 90 day the other way. I think I need something else to add.

I prepped for a Thursday zoom meeting today so I have a free afternoon (lol. I have exactly one social event on zoom every week and it’s my Thursday ladies group) so when I called the person in charge to tell them I was having trouble getting in she explained how time works.
With my free afternoon I decided to put up my outside holiday lights. It’s fricking COLLLLLD out there — 45, in the shade, and windy. The weather app says it’ll be 10 degrees warmer tomorrow, and then more degrees warmer on Friday so I called it quits for today.
So I’m sitting in front of my fake tree that I put up yesterday with my fake fireplace turned on and honestly I’m feeling pretty content. I love that stupid fake fireplace. It doesn’t look at all realistic but I miss my real one and the fake one makes me happy.
I submitted DH's eye appt to our FSA, they rejected it. So I submitted it again. Then they paid the original one and told me that I couldn't submit twice.
Well when I submitted it again it was still showing rejected.
Wasnt your h dealing with a cancer dx for at least part of the last year? His workplace sucks, doubly so since it’s a family operation. I’m sorry.
circa1978 your situation sucks too. I started my kitchen reno around that same time albeit several years ago (well I ordered everything in April but the construction began in late June/early July and I was doing Labor Day weekend. Also down to the studs. I’m sorry you’re dealing with no kitchen, and if your house looks like mine did, a giant fridge in the living room.

I talked to DD's teacher today about her boredom and being more emotional than usual and her teacher said we are welcome any time to come play in the woods at her house for a change of scenery. Her kids are all grown, but they still have this cool wooden obstacle course thing out there and trails. She is also helping me find a classmate to meet up with for outdoor play. I am very grateful for teachers.
PA is instituting a requirement for people entering the state to have either a negative test or to quarantine for 2 weeks. I live in NJ, but an hour to an hour and half from the border, so people from my area aren't just hopping in and out daily (there is a waiver for people working out of state). People in a local facebook group are bitching about it. They're livid that there is no exception for staying with family. Talking about how will their 2 year old sit for a covid test so they can see Grandma for Christmas, etc. Cases are definitely going up in our area and it seems people are still planning to drive hours to another state to stay with family. Still planning to go to rural areas, like they did at the start of this, and rent houses so they can "get away" without a care about bringing the virus to otherwise unaffected areas, and buy out all the food in the tiny grocery stores like they did at the start of this. If the Governor is instituting this he should also be banning short term rentals again.

Big Sky started last night and looks like it might be good. It's a David Kelley show.

The annual subscription is kind of expensive, but I have found it to be worth the upfront cost to be able to customize my boxes. I’ve ended up with way more stuff that I’m excited to use, or items that I’m able to gift to others later.

I got contacted for an interview literally days after my promotion went through. I’m approaching this like a man and scheduling it, because fuck my job, I’m going to get mine (if the price is right and the job seems like a good fit, lol)

I had my first tele-therapy appointment today and I really like my therapist. I’m excited to work with her and get my anxiety and anger under control. I also have been prescribed lexapro, so we’ll see what happens with that. My body hates medication and either I get every side effect possible or it just doesn’t work.

DS2 had a well visit yesterday and our doctor encouraged to do some outdoor playdates despite the cold weather and surge as it is good for the kids' mental health. I'm trying to find a friend to do this for DD and everyone says it's too cold. It's 40s to 50s, toughen up! In normal years we wouldn't be setting up outdoor playdates at this time of year, but it's this or nothing.
The doctor I saw Monday for my biopsy could not do it, too much scar tissue from my endometrial ablation 5 yrs ago. So she gave me the choice of starting progesterone to see if things worked out or I can be put out for another way to attempt the biopsy. It seems odd to give that choice. Like you either think I need a biopsy or not...but only if it is easy? Oops, too hard, you don't really have to have it. So trying to decide what to do now. I'm not on any meds and don't really like the idea of taking a hormone just yet.
Maybe make it easy to keep them shorter? I have no idea how old your child is but if it was snowing people would bundle up and go out. There’s no reason not to get out in 40 degree weather with appropriate clothing.

What was in the box? I recently signed up for FabFitFun and i'm so excited. I can't wait for my box to come.

That one looks really great too!
I got some really pretty nesting bowls, a S'well water bottle with a really pretty pattern, some reusable cotton pads (to use in place of cotton balls), a bamboo serving set, a face serum, and a PMD Clean (which is kind of like a clarisonic, but without having to replace the brush). I feel like it was a lot for what I paid, which was around $45 for the welcome box I think. I am not 100% sure I'll use the serving set much but I think the rest will get a lot of use.
