Timeless charm coupled with modern amenities. This historic property (NYS Register of Historic Places) known as Norman Vale has hosted many great historical figures, including Eleanor Roosevelt. Turn-key and one-of-a-kind, this home has been beautifully maintained and updated by the current owner, preserving its historic charm while adding the convenience of modern kitchens, bathrooms, fireplaces, air-conditioning, attached 2-car garage + more. With 2 fully restored floors, this impressive home is ready not only to satisfy your living needs but it's also perfect for extravagant gatherings. I was getting lost going through the gallery, but then I got to the 3-D map of the rooms toward the end of the photos in the listing. So cool.
Are you going to buy this one? It seems amazing. I'm not sure I could hack upstate NY winters but it's tempting.
No, I just thought it was unique and beautiful. I love the updated kitchens and baths... and those floors! They've done a great job.
I don't want to own a house on a historic registry, with all the obligations and entanglements that brings. It's also more $$$ than I'm looking to spend at this point in my life. It's fun to dream though!
I wish everyone would do a floor plan layout. Real estate listings would be so much easier to navigate with them.
Also, what does one do with 4000 sq feet? I assume that doesn't include the basement?
YES!!! I’m also loving 3D walk throughs. But we are house hunting right now, and the number of times I’ve had to schedule a showing just to check where that half bath was or if the basement is a walkout. Frustrating. Basements I can usually tell from outside photos, but there is the one house on my potential list that doesn’t even show the house from the backyard. Just the backyard from the house.
