achi has started the last 100 of these I think, so hopefully it is ok to step in....I like hearing other people's updates and issues, and this is much more manageable than the WTE app.
1. How far along are you? Team?
2. Rants, raves, feelings?
3. Any NYE plans?
4. Other than an end to the pandemic, and a healthy/happy pregnancy/delivery, what are your hopes/dreams/goals for 2021?
I almost posted yesterday and tagged all the other moms to be to see how everyone is doing! It's been quiet around these parts and I hope that means all is good!
1. How far along are you? Team?
36w, 3d - Team Pink! It's getting close!
2. Rants, raves, feelings?
I feel good because we're really starting to get things done and ready for baby girl #2. DH has done a bunch of work on the nursery so when the dresser comes in, I can hopefully hang everything up and finish the nursery by next weekend! I'm going to get all the baby stuff from this basement this weekend and wash all the teeny tiny baby clothes. I was 4 days late with DD1 but I'm getting the feeling I won't be late this time and I'm really okay with that, hah! I'm definitely feeling very very pregnant. Very sore, tired, everything gives me awful heartburn and getting out of bed is seriously hard work - both because I'm exhausted and also because it's just physically hard lol
3. Any NYE plans?
DH and I make a point to never go out on New Year's anyway so it's usually a pretty low key night. We're ordering dinner from one of my favorite italian places, drinking sparkling grape juice and will probably watch a movie or a show after DD goes to bed. Nothing exciting or much different than our usual weekend plans! DD1 is only 2.5 but I might try and do something fun with her that night before bed.
4. Other than an end to the pandemic, and a healthy/happy pregnancy/delivery, what are your hopes/dreams/goals for 2021? I like some parts of my job (my coworkers are great, my benefits are really good and only getting better, etc) but I am underpaid and kind of stuck in my position. I'm hoping to either get a significant pay raise here and a plan for advancement or to possibly find a new job. Honestly, I'm not really sure what else I'm planning for 2021! After this year I'm just really trying to be grateful for what we have.

1. How far along are you? Team? 13w 4d - Team Green
2. Rants, raves, feelings? Haven’t been around too much! Busy with the holidays (well busy with our nanny on her holiday while we manage full time work and a toddler). We had a wonderful Christmas. NIPT came back clear which was great to hear. I’m working today but only handling urgent matters so not doing too much.
3. Any NYE plans? Nopeeee. I’m going to make pork belly and maybe we will grab alcohol free cider. Maybe a nice meat board and some spring rolls. Limited in my hors d’oeuvres options haha.
4. Other than an end to the pandemic, and a healthy/happy pregnancy/delivery, what are your hopes/dreams/goals for 2021? Hopefully make it home to Canada and be reunited with our family and friends. It’s my sole want in life.
1. How far along are you? Team? 16W with second green baby (1st is a girl) 2. Rants, raves, feelings? Feeling better the last 2 weeks, still tired and constipated, but that may not change for a few years!
3. Any NYE plans? No, historically one or both of us has had to work, so since becoming parents we have not done much. We don't even usually stay up. I bought some freezer apps to have, not sure if that will become the main course or we will nibble all evening. DD will be at daycare so we cannot do a countdown at noon like I saw some people do, but maybe we will do something at 7 when she is getting ready for bed.
4. Other than an end to the pandemic, and a healthy/happy pregnancy/delivery, what are your hopes/dreams/goals for 2021? I will be finding out soon if I will be staying in my job for another 2 years, or changing this summer when I come back from family leave. I had really wanted this other job, but with 2 little ones, it would be stressful. Not so much the work, but the logistics. Right now DH, DD, and I are all in the same building, and work the same hours. This would be a new location and later hours. It would not be easy with a newborn. Staying in my job is not a setback, I am just not good with compromise! I also may not be offered the job (I did not get it last time I applied), so this worry may all be for nothing.
I also plan on getting a cleaning person/team in once baby is here. Our place is small, but I am willing to throw money at this problem at least for a few years.
I hope teleworking is here to stay for everyone, our commute is now 10-20 min shorter in the morning, and can be 30 min shorter in the evening. Daycare hours are also shorter, which forces my husband to have to leave earlier, which is great. I hate getting home at dinner time. I do also hope to be able to continue to work from home more after the baby comes (baby will go to daycare), because I am so much more likely to be able to get a workout in, and not have to wake up at 5 to do it! And it really does help with small chores like laundry and dishes in the morning. And getting dinner started.

We got a house cleaner after DD1 was born. Okay, it's really my younger sister who offered because she likes the extra money, but still, it's awesome. We have a roomba that vacuums our downstairs daily and we clean as needed, especially the kitchen, but she comes roughly every other week and does the majority of the actual cleaning work. It's so great and saves us a lot of time, which after having DD was really important for us (and why DH was on board for it). Pre-DD we would be spending a decent chunk of time on the weekends cleaning and we'd rather spend that with her or doing other things.
Lol, I have started a million of these so thanks for getting it going! It’s been a busy couple weeks and I’ve totally spaced on posting them.
1. How far along are you? Team?
30+2, team blue.
2. Rants, raves, feelings?
Holy crap, I am having a baby in 56 days. Although I wish I wasn’t the first section of the day since I have to be at the hospital at 6:30 am, but it is what it is.
Otherwise, just tired and achey. I’ve started seeing my chiro weekly now that the placenta previa has resolved which is helping to prevent the discomfort from getting worse.
I am irrationally irritated that all the Christmas cranberry ginger ale is sold out now. I normally can’t stand diet drinks but this one was really good and was so low in sugar that I could actually drink it with the GD. And now I’m sad it’s gone.
I hired my mat leave coverage just before the Xmas break. I’m relieved to have the help, but I am hoping she’s able to get up to speed quickly so I can maybe go on leave a week earlier or at least WFH for a bit.
3. Any NYE plans?
Absolutely not. I fully plan to be asleep.
4. Other than an end to the pandemic, and a healthy/happy pregnancy/delivery, what are your hopes/dreams/goals for 2021?
Honestly I just want to have a semi-normal year without feeling like more doom and gloom is just waiting for everyone. We’re in a lockdown now, with in-person school set to resume January 11th for elementary students. I’m really hoping that doesn’t get extended over and over because DS needs the social interaction and in person learning.

1. How far along are you? Team? 35+4, boy.
2. Rants, raves, feelings? Everything's kind of gone upside down lately at my job -- my boss announced he's unexpectedly resigning about one week before I go on maternity leave, so everything feels totally out of control there. And I super love him, so it's kicked an additional complication factor into my life ... including that I was really only staying at my job because I loved working with him, so I'll probably be job hunting in the spring/summer.
Baby-wise, we confirmed our c-section date (1/27), so that's on the books. The nursery is coming together in the absolute slowest way possible. I just cannot get going this pregnancy. I did just buy the rest of the stuff from our registry, though, and DH put the infant car seat base in my car.
Oh! Some of my sweetest and dearest friends threw a virtual sprinkle for me just before the holidays, and it was lovely and uplifting and wonderful.
But I'm ready to be done being pregnant. I'm not ready like "oh everything is where it should be" ready, but I'm tired of being achy and hormonal and tired. ha.
3. Any NYE plans? We actually have tickets to a drive-through Christmas light thing on NYE, ha, so we're taking DS1 to that to close out the holidays before his bedtime. And I'm probably just going to bed after that.
4. Other than an end to the pandemic, and a healthy/happy pregnancy/delivery, what are your hopes/dreams/goals for 2021? Wow. A good question. Things I'll probably want to do include finding a new job, getting my health back on track, and take a real trip when it's safe to do so. (Our 10yr anniversary is late March and we may do a night locally at a hotel, but I'd like to get away for at least a long weekend with just my DH at some point late in the year if possible.) Oh, and getting a cleaning service again, solely because I miss the 1x/mth I'd walk in and feel like a fairy had cleaned my home.
corgimom -- So close! I'm glad you guys are doing so well getting things together!
dreamcrisp1 -- Great about the NIPT! I, too, hope you can make it to Canada next year to see your family.
onthemove -- I am totally with you about the cleaning team/person. Do it when you can!
achi -- Lol. I feel you on the "first c-section of the day" thing. DH and I have to be at our hospital by 5a for an 8a surgery. ::sob::
lovesherheels Thanks! It felt like we weren't making any progress for a loooong time but suddenly in November we started getting stuff done and it's been a domino effect, lol. We've sort of figured we really have most everything we NEED right away from DD1 so everything else we can get as needed after DD2 makes her arrival. You're getting so close, too! Your c-section date is only 4 days after my EDD! achi is getting close, too!
So excited for everyone's babies to start making happy, healthy arrivals because I love reading birth stories!
