I have been having shoulder pain since I got my flu shot in November. Over the past week it got noticeably worse, and I'm losing mobility. I finally called for a doctor appointment and am going this afternoon. But I feel like I need to give a whole disclaimer about how much I support vaccines before I tell them what happened. I'm worried that anti-vaxxers have made doctors less likely to take me seriously. I'm not crazy! I love vaccines! But this one was almost definitely injected too high and damaged my shoulder. I hope they can help me.
Make sure you submit a VAERS report or ask you PCP to do it. I'm sorry you're still hurting.

I thought I wanted to start dating again, but then a man fetishized fuzzy slippers within 2 minutes of talking to him, and now I'm pretty sure I don't need to date. Just me, the dog, and cats forever.

This is anecdotal, but I have a close friend that actually had to have shoulder surgery stemming from an improperly administered flu shot three or four years ago. Glad you’re getting it checked out!

So in these cases, does the person who administered the shot’s insurance cover expenses? Or is this as assumed risk of getting a vaccine?

There's a federal fund for compensation for vaccine injuries. The person that administered the shot wouldn't be held liable as far as I know.

I’m honestly not sure. With my friend, her employer had a nurse practitioner come out and do a flu shot clinic, so I’m not sure how the liability worked. I would assume this wouldn’t be standard risk, since it wasn’t the shot itself that caused injury, but an error on the NP’s part.

I finally finished putting all the Christmas stuff away, and then I realized I forgot the shower curtain in my bathroom (because I haven't gotten my metal shower curtain hooks from Amazon yet even though I ordered them about a week ago) and some towels. And I know that most of my totes were full to the brim and I had to shove the lids on. So now I get to take them all down from the high shelves in the garage again to find one with room for these. I would just leave them in our linen closet for a year, but we are HOPEFULLY going to be in a new house by next Christmas, so I tried really hard to organize stuff as I was putting it away this year...
I had no idea shoulder issues could come from vaccines. It's not going to stop me from getting vaccinated, but I'm definitely going to keep that in mind going forward.
I started putting away a bunch of Christmas junk on Saturday night, and managed to break a support bracket on the closet organizer where I store all the wrap and boxes and stuff. So now instead of all the stuff being put away, it's spread out all over the guestroom bed and floor and is a bigger disaster than when I started.
I'm trying to use this as an opportunity to purge extra things I don't need/want anymore.
I couldn't sleep last night. I kept running through all the things I needed to remember to do on my to-do list at work (I was off since 12/23) and it kept me awake. I'm so tired.
We put Christmas away this weekend, and then I decorated for Valentine's day. I don't do much, but I have a banner that goes on my mantel and a wreath that replaces my normal front door wreath. Time means nothing to me anymore.
Awhile back someone mentioned the Trader Joe's cinnamon bun spread being good. I got some a couple of trips ago and I've been putting it on gingerbread cookies because I was too lazy to make good frosting for them. This is a good combo.

I would just start a new bin instead of going through all of that!
Positive - 6 month post op appointment tomorrow! I think I’m healing well but am weirdly anxious about saying “im a 34 DD when we discussed me end result being a full c/small d”.
Negative - I miss my mom the most in the far. I used to always call her when I was in the car w/o kids because it was when I was alone and it was quiet. Now I’m starting to have trouble making myself drive places because that is where I miss her the most 😕

I'm sorry namasteak. My mom died in October of 2019 and a few weeks before Thanksgiving I found myself sobbing in Home Goods in front of a display of paper napkins. My mom always had holiday themed paper napkins in a drawer and dragged them out every time we visited - including Easter, birthday, summer-theme, etc. This year I felt a twinge of nostalgia while picking out napkins, but I didn't cry. It gets better!

I’m as pro-vaccine as it gets, but I always, always have them use my non-dominant arm. For blood draws and donations too.
I had never heard of this! I just watched some Tiktok videos on it, kind of fascinating. Is all the murk in the water dirt (versus like the fabric dye being partially removed by the process?)
Definitely not dye - I have whites/lights in there now. I do think some of it is all of the different detergents/cleaners added in there, but for the most part it's just...ick...that comes off of everything.
Being able to escape my children noise is the only reason I would want a bigger house. Sometimes I go in my bathroom and run the shower to try to escape it. Then they just go to their bathroom (which shares a wall with mine) and my peace is ruined =(
Thank you mdmomof2 . I think once I get past a lot of firsts it will feel better. Tomorrow is the first grandkids birthday since she passed which is hard since she always did something special with them.

Huh. I wonder if I can make bluetooth headphones work with this tv. That's an excellent idea.
Our house is fine. I'd be able to hear them regardless of the size. It's much better when they're in the basement. I'm getting to a point where I'm ready to move their playroom down there, which I didn't think I would want to do for a couple years yet. I don't want to tell them to be quiet because they are playing nicely together, but omggggg, STOP YELLING!
I see a post in my future asking you guys what to do with our front room after I move all their toys to the basement. lol

Move them to the basement now and get video baby monitors if you're uncomfortable?

Wanting to be able to hear/see them was why I didn't put their playroom in the basement initially, but I really don't worry about them down there (it's where they watch tv). I think I'm good with sticking them down there. I just need to figure out how to make the layout work because our guest bed is down there. I want to get a murphy bed, which will help, but we haven't done that yet.
And I have no idea what to do with our front room when we move them down there. Our house is 2100sf and I honestly don't need another room for anything else, so I'm kind of torn on moving them down there because I don't know what to do with the front room they're in now and I think they'll be kind of cramped in the basement. But omg, the noise.
we had K's hearing checked because she was so loud.
I wonder if I should get DS2's checked. lol That child... I swear the entire city can hear him when he speaks. Our assistant daycare director told me a couple months ago that he lacks volume control. lol

Did K grow out of it?
She is a little better at not being loud while speaking... most of the time. When she is upset and yelling or crying? Still loud AF. She also has an incredibly short fuse.

How different do the sheets feel after stripping?
Sorry, just saw this. They feel softer and just smell fresher. I did towels and those were the BIGGEST change - the water literally reeked of like sweat and other nasty stuff. They're so much fresher now!
Bernadine, usually Soma has a sale, but that particular style can be pricey. I think they're also on ebates if that helps a bit. I do like their boyshorts.
I keep waking up with my right hand/arm asleep. I went for carpal tunnel testing and to an ortho a couple years ago who told me I don't have carpal tunnel. At that time I was also having tendon pain on the left from my pinkie to my elbow, but again, the doctor basically said I was making it up. I'm thinking he thought I was there for pain pills or something. Which didn't make sense, because when he recommended a steroid shot I asked about side effects because I had a platelet disorder that can flare up anytime. I guess maybe I need to try and just sleep on my left side somehow. I don't really have the headspace for another doctor to tell me I'm making it all up.
I’ve been going to physical therapy for something similar. Inflammation in my neck has resulted in compressed nerve in my left arm. My family doctor sent me.

I'm intrigued. What does this involve? Can I buy the solution?
