“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
It was not “not known”, let’s put it that way. It wasn’t widely promoted but not kept secret, either. There were a few “romance writers for Georgia” type Facebook pages where they would host readings or give away books in order to fundraise for get out the vote organizations. I think Abrams even read at one. But I never saw it mentioned on any national news outlets.
When a fellow CEPer posted about this on FB a few months ago I ran out and bought 4 of her books. She's fully identified in the book descriptions on amazon. it's not like it's a secret.
They're not my usual cup of tea (I like my romance historical - preferably with kilts involved), but they're very enjoyable brain candy and I wanted to support her.
Ha ha, this is definitely known in Romancelandia! A group of romance writers raised half a million dollars for the Georgia runoff. Here's a piece about it:
I knew this, but am wondering if anyone has read her stuff?
I bought one of her books when I found out in November (I’m a librarian and it got a lot of play in our groups that she was a romance novelist.) Haven’t read it yet but will report back! Everything she does is awesome, so I bet it’s good!

My friend read one of her books for research! She read me some passages. We are both gay and therefore not qualified to comment on the content but it wasn’t as bad as some hetero romance I’ve read! 😂

My favorite tweet from this morning about Georgia, haha. (From Natasha Rothwell: Stacey Abrams' greatest romance novel is called "Georgia." In it, the protagonist fucks the Republican Party to death.)
