Brag: Both kids are out of the house for the first time since March. I have a vacation day. I’m taking the day to get stuff done and watching a movie.
Vent: It’s one of those days that when I tick things off my to do list I destroy other things leading to more work. Example, I dyed my roots but got it in the bathroom rug. So then I had to wash the rug but both the washer and dryer were full from DH so now I need to fold and move things along. I get laundry detergent in my other rug which will bleach it so then I have to clean that. I try to vacuum the basement but the vacuum needs to be fixed. I pay attention to the cat and notice he is missing a tooth. I don’t think he’s been to the vet for a while. And now he’s trying to bite me because I looked in his mouth. This is just one “to do” which was dye my roots.
DD's counting down Fridays. We have 12 more Fridays left of tax season since she isn't counting today as it already started.
I've been up since 3. I had to pee so got up and then couldn't go back to sleep. I'm eating my PM snack as I'm starving.
It has been gorgeous out the last couple days. A total fake January spring. I told DD she could bring her scooter or skates and go outside today. When we walked yesterday we decided on where she could skate that would be safe. It is raining so no skates or scooter.
Brag: 5 days of morning workouts in the books! I'm really proud of myself for sticking with it.
Brag/Vent: I let loose on my boss yesterday because I was overwhelmed and exhausted from all the projects being thrown my way. No one seems to understand that I have 7 divisions that I support, so everyone can't have "the most important thing." I've wasted so much time going back and forth with people on projects that weren't well thought out and a hot mess. I'm really proud of myself for actually expressing just HOW frustrated I am and calling out specific people for the terrible jobs their doing on their ends. My boss knew I was serious because I'm usually someone that just takes care of the details and makes it happen. Also, didn't cry on the call about it. I have a tendency to stress cry and I managed to hold it in until I hung up. I refuse to cry in front of work people, even if it's just a natural stress reaction I have. So that's a win.
DS1 had his first in-person speech therapy appointment this morning. I'm glad we went in person because I guess his tongue tie (which he had clipped as a baby) is causing him issues, and I guess that would have been pretty hard to identify on zoom.
One of DD's classmates goes to the YMCA distance learning program with her, and she has been helping him a lot in terms of keeping him on track with his work, so he and his mom are picking her up to take her (masked) for frozen yogurt shortly as a thank you.
It's unseasonably warm here today and this weekend, so I think we'll do beach or pool. DS2 has also been asking to go back to the botanic garden, since they have kids play areas and it's one of the only things open. No big plans otherwise.
Monday the big kids have skateboard camp and the little boys are off. We're going to have our babysitter come 9-12 so DH and I can get a little bit of work done.
Vent: my friend gave me $50 to grub hub. My STBX backed out of his weekend. (Would have been the 4th weekend since oct) So I ordered pizzas from papa John’s. 2 pizzas and a cookie. Because my STBX stopped over to berate me and didn’t take any kids with him I got distracted and didn’t apply the gift card. $60 for two stupid pizzas and a cookie thing.
My son has a friend over so I have 4 hungry angry kids. It was supposed to come at 6:00 and it’s an hour late and we are all dying.

Maybe if you call they'll let you apply the gift card retroactively? Especially since everything is so freaking late!
campermom, that man is such a tool. He literally does nothing for the family outside of working a job that I guarantee he is trying to keep every cent, and yet makes it a point to stop by and berate you on his weekend to pick up the kids and then just leaves them there.
campermom- ask your lawyer about a protective order. That’s not okay. At all. And if he has time to drive over to act like an asshole, he has time to take his kids with him.
