1. How far along are you? Team? 40w, 2d - Team pink.
2. Rants, raves, feelings? I'm still pregnant. I was 4 days late with DD1 but was totally fine with that since I wasn't too uncomfortable and I was really not feeling mentally ready. This time I am SO READY yet... nothing. Barely any contractions and no sign she's coming soon. I'm getting quite uncomfortable because she is so so low, but apparently doesn't want to come out! I can't blame her, the world out here is super weird right now but c'mon, girl!! I've been walking up and down the stairs at our house, bouncing on my exercise ball, had sex, eating spicy foods but alas, she does not care. So I'm at work again today, booo. I do see my midwife tomorrow. I am hoping for a miracle and that labor just starts sometime before then, but if not I will have her check me out tomorrow. Finger crossed baby comes soooon!
3. Is this your first/second/etc. kiddo? Are you planning to have more? When we started dating we talked about having a larger family, 3-4 kids, but DD2 will be our last. We waited to start trying after we got married and then it took nearly a year and a half to get pregnant with our first which I miscarried, then several more months before I got pregnant with DD1. We like this 2-3 year age gap but it also means we've sort of run the clock out on having kids. While I technically still "have time" left, DH is a little over a decade older than me and has some feelings that he'd be close to 50 if we had another, which I get. I had some feeeelings about it but ultimately I'm so so thankful for our family and feel good about it. ... Though we could use another dog.
4. Do you have a name picked out already and do you share that name or wait until baby is born? We do! I feel so on top of it, considering we didn't decide on DD1's first name until she was born! We don't really share names (or name possibilities) with anyone but immediate family. We've shared a bit more openly this time, but just with some closer friends. No real reason why other than I just don't want to?
I'm so sorry you're having nausea, it really is the worst! I hope it goes away quickly for you! I never had any with DD1 so I was not prepared for how awful the first trimester can be when I had constant nausea this time. Diclegis? My midwife prescribed it but my insurance denied it because it's $$$ so instead my midwife had me take B-12 and Unisom (it's the same ingredients) It took a few days of taking it for me to notice any difference and it definitely wasn't 100% but it did help. I mostly went from feeling awful all day to only feeling meh except around dinner when my nausea was at it's worst. It really did clear up quickly around 12 or 13 weeks and now that feels like forever ago! I just ate whatever I could and whatever sounded good. Mostly smaller meals or snacks throughout the day. Eating sour hard candies also helped me a little but nothing gave me complete relief, I'm sorry to say.:/
34 weeks with DS2. T-minus 30 days until my c-section.
2. Rants, raves, feelings?
Thankfully all of our potential COVID exposures have come back negative. BUT H said they announced another positive case at work today. They say that public health says it's community spread, but given how many cases they've had there recently, I'm not buying it. My mat leave coverage person continues to be off this week and I'm getting really fed up. I've reposted the job ad and am trying to find someone actually reliable. But my stress levels are really high. By some miracle, my BP was normal at last week's check up. My father keeps asking when my section is scheduled and I've been resisting telling him (have stuck with "the last week of February, still waiting on a date" for now). He has NO concept of boundaries, called me constantly when I was in labour with my first and then showed up at the hospital and broke into the maternity ward. I've told them multiple times that they're not allowed in because of COVID (this is true - there are no visitors allowed at our hospital unless someone isn't able to speak English, is extremely incapacitated, or has medical POA), but I wouldn't put it past him to try to get in and/or call all the time.
3. Is this your first/second/etc. kiddo? Are you planning to have more?
Baby number 2 (which has always been a hard limit for us). We are done, H will get a vasectomy. We struggled with secondary infertility and repeat losses. And honestly, if I physically had to endure another pregnancy I might actually snap.
4. Do you have a name picked out already and do you share that name or wait until baby is born?
This baby will be named Miles Thomas. Miles is a name we both really like, and Thomas as a middle name after H's uncle who he was very close to that passed when he was in his early teens. I'd been resisting telling my father the name because he says stupid shit, and I was right. He told me that Miles was a very strange name and that Thomas should be his first name instead. Thankfully SM was actually helpful and reminded him that her son's good friend is named Miles and that it's not weird at all.
achi - I'm glad you listed the job again and I hope you find someone you can have more trust in this time. I love the name Miles Thomas! I have a friend who named her son Miles last year and I don't think it's weird at all. I think it's one of those names that's classic but not common. I'm sorry your dad is adding to your stress levels.
1. How far along are you? Team? 20+2 halfway! Team green (again) 2. Rants, raves, feelings? still tired and every few days get a little sick feeling. Had the 20 wk scan this morning, all good but a brain cyst. Because we had the early blood work done with no/v low risk of chromosome issues the MFM said it was nothing to worry about any she fully expected it to be gone by the 28 wk scan. 3. Is this your first/second/etc. kiddo? Are you planning to have more? number 2, they will be just about 3 years apart. We have always said 2, and I don’t expect that to change. However, with only a couple months to go (even though I haven’t loved being pregnant as much this time as the first), I am a little sad that every first thing time, will also be a last. So many feelings! 4. Do you have a name picked out already and do you share that name or wait until baby is born? no, we have our leftover names from last time, probably start talking about it more in a couple months.

1. How far along are you? Team? 39+3, DS2
2. Rants, raves, feelings? Guys. I'm over the heartburn and the hip pain. So over it.
But. I'm officially on maternity leave and DH and I are ticking off the final items from the to do. C-section is scheduled for Thursday at 8 a.m., so that's the latest he DS2 can appear!
And not at all related to my pregnancy, I found out my best friend who we didn't think could have a second child (but desperately wanted two children) is 13wks pregnant with a little girl! So I'm over the moon about that!
3. Is this your first/second/etc. kiddo? Are you planning to have more? This will be our second. We're done after this guy. I hate being pregnant, and neither of us have ever wanted more than two kids.
4. Do you have a name picked out already and do you share that name or wait until baby is born? Ha -- no, we don't. We have more FN MN pairs under consideration than we should at this point probably, but ::shrug::. Here we are, lol. We'll decide for sure after he's born.
corgimom -- How are you feeling today? Tell baby girl it's time to make her debut! I was so hoping to see a birth story from you when I looked today!
carrotsmakemefat -- Congratulations!! I actually found that those morning sickness bands helped me some when I was nauseous. But really I just snacked blandly and often. I hope you get some relief soon!
achi -- The COVID stuff at your DH's work must be so stressful. I'm sorry. And I love the name Miles Thomas! Ignore your dad, lol.
onthemove Halfway! I am totally with you on all the feelings about it being our last. I've gotten weepy a few times about this being my last pregnancy and all the last firsts even though I'm actually OK with being done.
lovesherheels I'm STILL PREGNANT! I went into active labor with DD1 at 40w 3d (which is today with this one!) and had her less than 24 hours later, 4 days late. This time I feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever, lol! I see my midwife this afternoon so I'm hoping she had good news for me and we can meet this girl soon! I keep telling her it's okay to come out now but DH says she's heard about all the craziness this past year and he can't blame her for staying in! So excited you are going to have a baby in TWO DAYS!!

Thank you! My father just has no filter between his brain and his mouth. My mother had an excellent filter, but my SM doesn't and it's been a bad influence on him. That plus old age - not a good combination.
He used to frequently (a looonnngggg term anorexic) that she was too skinny and that she better eat up to some meat on her bones. I was like WTF! YOU CANNOT SAY THAT!
1. How far along are you? Team? 17w 3d - team green!
2. Rants, raves, feelings? I bought my 1st official baby item yesterday and that made things feel so real. I don’t feel pregnant at all right now so that was nice.
3. Is this your first/second/etc. kiddo? Are you planning to have more? 2nd kiddo. Unsure on more. Depends on how we survive #2. If #2 is like my DS then we definitely will but if this baby is more challenging then no.
4. Do you have a name picked out already and do you share that name or wait until baby is born?
We do! We have first names and are still deciding on middle names. We aren’t telling anyone. We did with my son but this time I want to keep them secret.
1. How far along are you? Team? 27&2 with a boy. Almost to third tri!
2. Rants, raves, feelings? Just got my antibody results today after my second dose of the vaccine and I’m positive! Hoping baby gets some of those protective antibodies, too.
Otherwise just feeling really tired and drained. It’s been a long winter, that I expect to feel longer yet. But I’m really looking forward to spring and summer!
3. Is this your first/second/etc. kiddo? Are you planning to have more? This will be our second child. We hope to have another - but highly dependent on health and jobs/finances
4. Do you have a name picked out already and do you share that name or wait until baby is born? We have a couple names we are partial to, and my son is really attached to one in particular. We’ve shared with very close friends and family, but not super publicly. I changed my mind after my first son was born and it took me a day or so to pick his name - the hospital employee was pestering us to get the social security paperwork out. I apparently don’t like to commit to names!
Well, I'm still pregnant! I was only dilated to a 1 but my midwife agreed to a membrane sweep since it helped with DD1. I had some inconsistent contractions last night and then woke up at 3am with consistent contractions all morning... and now they are super spread out. Womp womp. They have picked up a bit again this evening so I'm hoping it will be time sooner than later!
Good luck tomorrow!! I hope you have a smooth delivery and recovery!

Maybe our kids will be birthday twins!
I hope your contractions become more regular and productive soon. Being over is no fun; DS1 was late and it was annoying. Lol.
And thank you! I live in NC and we're getting snow tonight (which is a THING here) so getting to the hospital may be interesting lol
