Who is buying crypto currency and what are you buying? Have a little play money I am thinking of investing, but it is so foreign to me... I just wondered what others were thinking.
My DH bought Ethereum and Bitcoin a few years ago (not much). The B is doing okay, but we checked the Ether and it is way way up. Like when we are able to travel we can afford a decent family vacation on it.
He has friends who got in even earlier on both and have made a bundle.

Following since I starting putting a little bit of fun money into this. The big ones I've put money into are bit, ETH, and LTC.
I'm also intrigued by Dogecoin. It seems like a joke but Elon Musk tweeted that he's going to get it up to $1 (currently at .05) and it's getting traction on Reddit. I was interested enough to throw $5 in.

icedcoffee I am buying on Coinbase at the recommendation of my friends who are investors in cryptocurrency. Happy to send you a referral if you want one. We both get $10 to invest.

Ok I invested $100 total spread across Bitcoin, Ethereum and LINK. I don’t know why. LOL. I just kind of want to play around and learn what it’s all about.
And my H lost $200 playing poker with his friends this weekend so.... 😝
I totally expect this to go the same way my Canadian cannabis investment went. LOL

Don't look at it now then! I did the same, bought OGI at a near high, March 2019. I held on and averaged down for nearly two years. Since November, it ALWAYS went up and down and when it'd go up $.20 or so, I'd sell some to recoup some costs, then buy more on the dip. I was still down a lot and after the inauguration saw that it was rising and falling again at higher amounts. I sold what I had left for about $2.22 on 2/3/21 at a big loss, expecting it to dip again, figuring I'd finally sell once a bill was introduced in the Senate and hopefully break even and get out of the nightmare.
I had to stop looking when it hit $7 today because I'm so mad at myself for holding on to it for going on two years and I sold before it actually made me any money. I won't even try to calculate what I'd have made had I done all the averaging down and then waited to sell it all.
I did get lucky this past week buying a few before runs and selling half to break even, so I'm running on profit with a 25% trailing stop limit, so really, I'll make it back, but it's the PRINCIPLE of it all!
It's all a scam! Money is green. Money goes in banks which have useful things like deposit insurance, fraud protection, and customer service. Investment goes in brokerages which have useful things like customer service, legitimate tax accounting, and where your money flows into the real economy of stuff and people.
These dipshits keep reinventing parts of the banking system and calling it "tech", kill it with fire. Yes you can get rich if you find a greater fool willing to buy into the Ponzi scheme after you did. But you might get taken to the cleaners before that happens.
If you're just using your fun money, I suggest cutting out the middle man and spending it on hookers and blow. Or strippers and weed if you want to be a rule follower.
