I want to brighten up our master bedroom with a new comforter. I don’t want to paint and will be adding these new prints above the bed.
Any suggestions? I found one set at Macy’s that I like but it’s like $500 which seems like a ton.
Also I want a comforter not a duvet. Duvets drive me crazy as somehow Dh ends up with all the inside and I end up with a corner of duvet cover and we’ve tried all the clips.
Hmm I like the second one you posted, the first means a little 80s aerobics for me or ribbon dancing. . I could also see you pulling that citron color out of the pics or maybe a 70s ish comforter (or mud century Palm Springs look). I think a rug would be very impactful under the bed too. I went years without one and when we finally added one I was surprised how much more complete the room felt.
I agree with all of the above. I’m also considering these but am worried about it being all white. I think this white one matches the fireplace nearly perfectly. Does anyone with kids (who are allowed to be in your room) have all white, and is it doable?
ETA. I do love the artwork so I would rather find bedding that goes with it.
ETA. I went with the white wavy bedding and colorful shams. I’ll try to remember to post after I get the artwork in 8 weeks.
I love the art. I’m not brave enough to use anything with that much color. I’d stick with all white bedding and pull 1-2 colors out of the art with pillows and a throw blanket. And not that you asked, but I’d add a rug too.
As for where to buy, have you looked at Pottery Barn?
They have a lot of options but I’m drawn to this one. I like the idea of adding texture without competing with the artwork.
I think the first one you posted would be great and really matches your style. But I am firmly team no solid white. I think it always looks beautiful and light and airy, but I can't be trusted with it and I'm an adult. And DH somehow will randomly start bleeding occasionally in his sleep (I mean, I assume it's possible he snored and I punched him, but it's not that much blood), so it's a hard pass on white in our house.
I've also been looking for a replacement for ours... for several years now, so I'm not help.
I'm considering keeping our duvet and doing a quilt or coverlet on it to avoid the shifting duvet inside the cover. I just feel like whatever is on top needs to be laundered more than a comforter can handle without the fill moving all over.
If you decide to go the colorful comforter route, I got this for my mom over Christmas and the colors seem like they would go with the artwork you've selected. It seems to be sold by a lot of different places.

Yes. Over the weekend I took the duvet insert out of the actual duvet and it was much better. I’m debating getting a colorful throw to cover part of the white. Maybe to match the TBD sheets, maybe teal.
As a bonus this was the runner up. But decided against adding gray and thought this would read mostly gray IRL. But I still think this is beautiful.

I like the art but I think the colorful comforters you suggested tip the room a little into teen-looking. Sorry I don't have time to look right now, but maybe later I'll find some suggestions!
