Hi all. I haven’t posted in years and was an infrequent poster when I did post. But I trust this group to give great recommendations, so I am here looking for some advice.
Can anyone recommend a virtual fitness coach or personal trainer? The search function didn’t give me anything useful.
I am mostly looking for someone who can help me build a plan, taking into account physical limitations (congenital heart defect plus some lingering pregnancy/delivery complications) and logistic complications and all of the subscriptions and home equipment I already have, and a devise a program for me with options for Plan B, C, or D if Plan A doesn’t work and maybe a 30 minute check in once week for accountability / review and tweaks. I don’t necessarily need someone to be on video chat while I am working out but helping me take all of these options and barriers and make them into a realistic plan.
Right now, I have a 1 year old and 16 year old home all day (virtual school) while I am working from home. I’m assuming you can all guess the challenges of working from home with a 1 year old and how a 1 year old can interfere with workout plans, but the 16 year old also has some special needs that require a little more supervision than a typical 16 year old and take up most of our evening time (and emotional energy). And my husband also works full time and is in grad school. I can probably put together a program on my own, but I would need tons of uninterrupted time to do so, and well, I can’t even pee without being interrupted multiple times, lol. I hope to have childcare for the 1 year old back in another week or so, which will help tremendously, but I wasn’t successful at all in implementing the plan I had in the few weeks that I did have childcare.
Thanks so much for any insight or suggestions you might have!!
For something like that, you are probably going to need a one:one relationship with a trainer, which is going to be more expensive than other options.
I worked in person with a trainer named Natali Medlen (Built For This PT) for 2 years and she is fantastic! She provided detailed WO programs in 12 week cycles, a nutrition plan, and was always available for questions/support. She also offers virtual/online training and coaching. I have no idea of the cost. She herself has 3 kids under 5 so she definitely gets the struggle.
You might also consider something like Booty by Bret (Contreras, known as The Glute Guy for damn good reason) or Jordan Syatts Inner Circle. They are both monthly paid programs, but are going to be less customized for you specifically. Of the 2, based on what you've said, I would look at Inner Circle first.
Good luck, and congratulations on making this investment in yourself!
Look up some of your local gyms (especially council ones) or personal trainers. A lot are doing free online training at the moment. So many on offer. I follow this resource betterme.world/articles/skinny-waist-big-butt/ that offers so many sound tips to keep in shape
