Holy fucking shit - I'm having a baby in 9 days. I lost my mucous plug the other day. Since then I've had mild contractions are night usually but nothing real yet. But we're down to the lasts of everything. Last NST tomorrow, last OB appointment on Thursday.
3. Did you do anything to celebrate valentines day?
Not really. MIL took DS1 for the weekend and we just kind of hung out, got the carseat bases installed, the new rug laid, etc. We're not big V-day people to begin with but this one was especially not mushy.
4. How much time are you taking off after baby comes?
A year (thank you Canada). We have an 18 month option as well but it's way less money and honestly, after taking 18 months with DS I was so ready to get back to my adult life.
2. Rants, raves, feelings? Feeling pretty good - we finally hired a sitter for my toddler to come a couple mornings a week. She actually worked for us prior to the pandemic, so we know her well but haven’t seen her for a year. She starts Wednesday and I’m excited! Plan is for adults to wear masks but my son and her 8 mo daughter (obviously) will not. Hoping it goes smoothly... my son hasn’t really had another caregiver since mid March 2020.
3. Did you do anything to celebrate valentines day?
We had a special breakfast together, picnic lunch outside and watched the movie Soul with our son. It was low key and nice! Today we took advantage of the market holiday and went to the zoo.
4. How much time are you taking off after baby comes?
I have no idea. I think I get a max of 4 months (all unpaid since I’m per diem). But if covid is not under control by then, I may have to reevaluate my employment situation. Baby will be immunocompromised for 6 months and I will only go back if I’m comfortable leaving him with a caregiver. I’m hoping to qualify for a prolonged LOA; however, worst case scenario - per diem positions frequently become available in my field
achi any fun plans in your last 9 days...I mean 8 now?
Any chance you will go into active labor prior to then
I was induced at 41w2d and 39w2d...never lost my mucous plug or went into natural labor
I’ve got 4 days of work left and then I’m off. No fun plans right now. I’d love to get a pedicure but I’ve held off during the pandemic and my heels are so cracked (happened with DS1 too) I feel that I’m more at risk of something getting into my body.
At this point I don’t think anything is going to happen, labour-wise. I need to start collecting colostrum this week so I suspect that contractions may ramp up a bit but I think this little guy has no intention of going anywhere before the 24th.

I just wanted to pop in because I'm so excited you're going to have baby soon! So happy and excited for you and hope everything goes smoothly!

How are you feeling and handling postpartum?
Good! Thyroid drama continues and hair is falling out, but enjoying being able to work from home with baby for now...going back in person one day a week next month. She is 6 months, 18.5 lbs. We are planning her baptism with just grandparents and godparents.
Thanks for asking...I'm so excited for everyone here

1. How far along are you? Team? 21 weeks! Team Green.
2. Rants, raves, feelings? Finally some good weather here so thoroughly enjoyed some outside time. This pregnancy so far has been much better than my son’s and I’m quite happy about that. I often forget I’m pregnant. 😅
3. Did you do anything to celebrate valentines day? We always use it as an excuse for a super fancy meal so we ordered a nice dinner with lobster, burrata, and other stuff.
