I finished The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I have two other Grady Hendrix books on hold at the library.
I’m two-thirds through Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times. There are some profound moments coupled with some very mundane anecdotes.
QOTW: I’ve done it before but I don’t make it habit. I admire those that can do it but I’m better at focusing on one book at a time.
A Phở Love Story by Loan Le (very cute YA with lots of food)
Black Widows by Cate Quinn (bad and poorly researched)
Fly Away by Kristin Hannah (so bad)
Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid (this would make a great movie)
The Divines by Ellie Eaton (a little odd but I liked it)
Alright, Alright, Alright: The Oral History of Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused Melissa Maerz (the intros were absolutely horrible but the actual discussion was interesting)
QOTW:
I normally don’t especially now because I’m getting fewer physical books from the library. I’ll read a physical book and an ebook at the same time because I don’t read physical books in bed.
Helium by Rudy Francisco - very relatable and easy to read poetry, recommend! Dark Horse by Michelle Diener - sci-fi but focuses on a romance and a friendship. Really enjoyed this but a terrible book cover Magic Forged by K.M. Shea - light urban fantasy; a quick but easily forgettable read. I probably won't read the next book in the series
QOTW: I am almost always reading more than one book - one ebook so I can read on my phone wherever I am, and one audiobook so I can 'read' while doing mindless chores. Back when I went to the library and got more physical books, I would have that as my third book usually to read outside by my pool in the shade. So it's not so much reading multiple books but wanting multiple formats to 'read' in certain situations.

Glad to see a good review of this - I really enjoy other books by this author.

It was fun! Sort of an old fashioned California family epic. I need to try the Seven Husbands one again because I couldn’t get into it but I’ve liked her other books/stories a lot.
I read The Death of Mrs. Westaway this week. 3.5 stars.
QOTW: I read one at a time except when I’m reading a big nonfiction book (like Obama’s book) and then I might also pick a lighter fiction book and alternate between the two. But I never read multiple fiction or multiple nonfiction at a time.
I finished Every Woman’s Guide to Saving the Planet by Natalie Isaacs, the founder of Australia’s 1 Million Women. I have started Nature’s Best Hope - A New Approach to Conservation That Starts in Your Yard by Douglas W. Tallamy. My reading has been distracted and disjointed lately after a big couple of weeks with volunteer work, school interruptions, etc. Looking ahead to the idea of possibly going back to my old job (interview is coming up), I think frequent book reading is unfortunately going to have to be one of the areas I cut. 😫
QOTW: Usually I read just one book at a time. But sometimes those drag out and it seems better to be reading two, so at least one of them will actually get done.
I just finished listening to Guest List. I enjoyed it. I will probably finish The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue tonight or tomorrow. Also very good.
QOTW: I used to do one at a time, a few years ago I started having one audio and one physical book, and generally that works. It helps if they are different types of stories or one is non-fiction. I have also recently started having a non-fiction physical book that I pick up intermittently, like a quilt book, or recently a social media&kids book. So usually 2-3.

I read Crazy Stupid Bromance - really liked it. I'm glad I read past the first book in this series because the sequels are much better.
I also finished a reread of Lover Avenged (BDB #7).
QOTW: I usually have one audiobook and one book I read with my eyes (either ebook or paper book). I don't like having to choose which one to pick up so I do one in each type of reading format (if that makes sense).
Currently reading The Book Woman if Troublesome Creek.
QOTW: I only read 1 at a time. I have a difficult time remembering details, if I read multiple books at once I wouldn’t be able to keep anything straight.
Trust Exercise by Susan Choi DNF. Thanks to the posters here who shared their thoughts on the book when i asked. I really wasnt into it.
Friends and Strangers by J Courtney Sullivan. I'm about 2/3 if the way through and it's ok. I hope it all kind of solidifies at the end, but i doubt it.
I usually read 3 books at a time-2 spiritual (usually Buddhist) or self improvement books and 1 novel or biography.
I’m having trouble starting anything, but I’m a few pages in to The Art of Theft by Sherry Thomas. Series books usually work when I hit a reading block.
QOTW: sometimes I’ll read a fiction book and a nonfiction book at the same time. If you count the books I’m teaching, I have three fiction books going right now, but that’s very different from normal reading.
Still working my through Stamped from the Beginning. I'm also reading a very long sci-fi book called The Doors of Eden that I'm really enjoying (it's a multiverse novel ufcasey, so you might like it; and it's not the typical way multiverses are presented either, which is fun). I'm also working my way through Explain Pain, which is non-fiction about how pain works (and I think eventually on managing it).
QOTW: LOL, I definitely read multiple books at at time (see above). According to Goodreads I'm reading 7 books right now, and since I haven't officially marked any of them as DNF, then I guess so... but really I'm just actively reading the 3 above (ebook on my Kindle, physical book, and a horribly formatted ebook on my laptop via the Kindle app).
I'm almost always reading at least one non-fiction and one fiction at a time, and I regularly am reading two fiction at a time depending on how my book clubs shake out. I try not to read two books that are too similar at the same time, but in general I don't have a problem keeping details straight. Just like like I can watch multiple TV shows at the same time, I can read multiple books at the same time.
I'm reading The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and listening to A Black Woman's History of the United States (should finish by Wednesday). I've been in a bit of a slow patch recently with trouble focusing.
QOTW: like several others have said, I frequently have two different formats of book going at the same time (audio and either Kindle or paper). I don't usually find it confusing unless the books are extremely similar.

I am all about the multiverse books!! Adding it to my list now - thanks!! Also, I agree about being able to watch multiple tv shows/read multiple books. Maybe if the books are similar (both murder mysteries) I could see myself getting them confused, but like you I also avoid doing that in the first place.

Feb has been an awful reading month. I picked up 9 Perfect Strangers, but it's really slow going. I'm sort of chipping away at Firefly Lane too, but again slow going.
QOTW: I need to get back in to two books at a time. My issue is keeping them straight as I have 4 or 5 types of books. I find that I read more books though if I have two going, esp like right now where neither are very good, so neither are motivating ing me to read.
tacokick, don't pick that one back up again, it was terrible. Unless you enjoy narcissistic story telling.
I finished Love Lettering which is the overdrive Together We Read book. Anyone can check it out through Feb 24 and then discuss the book. 4 stars, this was a good one. A little slow to start, but I think the way the characters were written, it worked.
Current Reading Uncover Bromance, which is book 3. Despite book 1 being a very New Adult style, Books 2 and 3 are 10x better.
QOTW: I usually only read more than 1 book at a time because one book is boring me and I need to switch it up. I don't typically have more than 1 book going.

Good to know! I can’t remember why I couldn’t get it to it but that may very well be it! I just remember picking it up and abandoning at least twice
