Our kitchenAid refrigerator is on the fritz. It keeps getting warm (50ish) and building up ice behind the deli drawer. I defrost it and it comes back within a week. I think it’s about 9 years old (came with the house). The finish around the ice maker in the door is getting weird too. The ice maker also stops working well at times then magically fixes itself. Anyway I’m tired of trying to limp it along and am thinking of cutting our losses and getting a New fridge instead of trying to fix this one.
So does anyone have an amazing fridge ? I’m thinking if the French door style with the separate deli drawer (for kids snacks) and freezer drawer since my kids open the fridge 80,000 times a day. Any experience here?
Cut your losses and get one now, before you are in a crunch! We just had to get a fridge and they only last about 8 to 10 years now, apparently. Ridiculous!
Anyway, I heard to for sure stay away from Samsung. I can't offer much more. We just got GE to match our other appliances. Go look in person as it makes a big difference to see how the space is laid out. For example, I don't like ones where the internal ice thing takes a bunch of room away from the fridge area.
I would love the extra drawer and wanted to get that, but it wasn't available at the time and we needed something ASAP. I kind of regret not trying harder to get that. It also was more expensive, but I think would be worth it.
H and I have loved our LG fridges. Due to moving we've bought two in less than two years. Both are basically the same. The first only have one freezer drawer. Our current one has two (which we actually really like). The first had better ice & water placement (in our opinion). Both had fridge up top with french doors and freezer on bottom (which we love). Both have the deli drawer.

We have an LG and like it. I can look up the model if you want, but we've had it for a good 6 years now so it's probably old. It's got ice and water dispenser in the door, french doors, bottom freezer. I especially like the three drawers in the bottom freezer, you can fit tons in. The only negative is the little picture of the ice/water dispenser has worn away a little where you push the glass against it, but no big deal. In terms of reliability, ease of cleaning, etc. it's been great.
I don't want to jinx anything, but our Jenn-Air fridge is still going strong and it's about 10-11 years old now. It came with the house and my only complaint is that I wish it had a water and ice dispenser in the door. It has a water dispenser inside and a traditional ice maker in the freezer, but I think it's dumb to have to open the fridge and keep it open while you fill your glass. But I typically drink tap water anyway, so it's not a huge issue.
