My husband & I are leaving for vacation the first week of October & I would love to hear some suggestions of some must see and/or must eat places in Paris, Lyon or the Montreux/St. Saphorin region near Lake Geneva. We'll be in each place for a few days & ending it at Oktoberfest in Stuttgart.
We're pretty much open to anything but are looking must see places but also off of the beaten path stuff too. As for food we love trying the regional specialties & the not so touristy spots. Thanks so much!

For Paris:
Splurges: Pierre Gagnaire, Arpege (these 2 restaurants are very different in terms of their approach)
Non-splurges: La Regalade Saint-Honore, Josephine Chez Dumonet (best steak tartare I’ve ever had, classic neighborhood bistro), L'as du Falaffel
Bakeries: Brioche Doree, Eric Kayser, Besnier Pere et Fils, Pierre Herme, Laduree
There are some good restaurants that opened in the last few years as well that are on my list for when I return: Spring, Frenchie, Chateaubriand to name a few.
