We're having decent weather for later winter, so I'm itching to get our yard going. We knew the yard would be A Project when we bought this house, but I underestimated the sheer volume of things that needed cut back/pulled out/torn apart. SO far we've given away a rubbermaid shed and 70+ patio pavers that were randomly scattered around the backyard (all in good shape though). I've cut down two overgrown bushes that were blocking windows, and we still have a huge cedar to take out.
A poorly done addition on our deck needs dismantled, but I'm getting a quote for that. I thought we would diy, but someone with the right tools can have it done in half a day. I'd rather throw money at that and work on other areas ourselves.

I really, really, really need to get rid of ivy on our one fence (wood) so that we can put together our raised bed on that side. The weather has not been conducive to doing so. I also need to cut back a few roses and other items in our front garden. I just want it to stop raining every single weekend!
Inside I'll put up a few more pics and hopefully take a final one to get framed today. I love that I'm actually decorating a house for once (I didn't really get into it in our first 3 properties as they all felt too temporary and this is definitely our forever home).
H is building an entertainment center. He has 75% of the frame done and is hoping to finish today. That means I’ll spend the day keeping the kids out of his way. This project is taking such a long time.
I would really like to get the curtains up tomorrow but I’m not positive it will happen.

It's supposed to be beautiful here today so I'm hoping to paint the trim on our deck. We also need to reseed a small patch of our lawn, and wash our windows.

It’s supposed to be 65 and sunny (a rarity this time of year for PNW) and the gardener just took out some bushes I have hated for 5 years so I may go looking for replacements.
Snowstorm here too. Planning to do some cleaning and then try to get through a few more storage boxes in the basement. We’d like to remodel down there but have a lot of stuff stored in built in cabinets, so we need to find new homes for much of it, including trash as needed.
We're working on putting up closet doors in the bedrooms. There used to be ugly luan sliding doors, and we got rid of them in 2014 when we replaced all the carpet upstairs. They had a track that went through the carpet, so we just removed the track, put in new flooring, and lived without closet doors for I guess like 7 years. We eventually put a new set of bifold doors in our room, but the process of converting from sliding to bifold was a huge PITA, and we just kind of stopped without doing the other 3 bedrooms.
Obviously it would be weird when we go to sell, if 3/4 bedrooms have no closet doors, so that's the current project.
The original doors were pretty fug:
so it's nice to see the side by side with DS's room now.
DD's room is done too, we just have the guest room left and we can check this off the "pre-listing list".
We hung some floating shelves in the powder room today and are currently putting up the last set of curtain rods that still needed to be done on the first floor. We've been here 2.5 years, sigh.
Someday we'll buy a house that already has window coverings and curtain rods installed. It's such a PITA to get blinds, rods, and curtains for every.single.window. Minor as far as projects go, I know, but I'm picky and cheap, qualities that do not go well together, LOL.
We're finally in a house with a yard & patio. Tomorrow we'll hopefully get some outdoor seating and a few yard tools (shovel etc). I'm plotting where to plant flowers and what pots I want.

I'm really anxious to start working on my garden. We are in the process of converting our yard which is currently overgrown with mostly non-native and invasive plants into a food forest. It's too early to plant anything in my zone, but this weekend I want to clear out as much brush as possible. I'm hoping to cut back a group of Chinese privet bushes which will be replaced with a raspberry and blackberry patch.
We had 13 cubic yards of mulch delivered so that’s been taking up a lot of time. I’m also finishing the new build out around our basemt Lally columns (oak and thin brick).

Holy cow, 13 yards sounds like it'll take forever to spread! I need to do this too but not looking forward to it. My yard care people refuse to do it unless I also pay for spring cleanup, which is a few hundred dollars of work I don't need at the moment. I just want some mulch put down, damn it!
I’m painting our home office. It was beige, now it’s navy. So far so good but all the furniture is back ordered so I don’t know how it will look when it’s all put together.

spending extra time in epsom salt baths for sure. Sad part is it doesn’t even cover all our beds. We rotate each year what gets mulched
We’re installing new cabinet hardware in the kitchen and it will be the death of me. H decided he wanted bar pulls instead of knobs and getting them all straight and level and lined up is so tedious.
We put new craftsman style moulding around the doors in our kitchen and it makes a huge difference! We needed to reframe these doors due to a difference in flooring heights for our kitchen remodel but now I want to do it on every doorway in the house!
