What's up??
I feel like this week is going to fly by. In addition to all the normal stuff, we're making corned beef & cabbage and Irish soda bread for St Patrick's Day, March Madness is kicking off, and we're going to my parents' for a few days. DH & I are spending one of the nights at a hotel, we've had a tradition of going on the first weekend of March Madness. So looking forward to a small break!

H's birthday is Friday! ILs are planning on coming over and getting food at our local Chinese place.
The kids had their yearly checkups last week. A failed her eye test! I hope hers aren't as bad as mine. So we'll have to take her to the eye doctor and see!

Hey! I just realized you guys were back over here...I will try my best to remember to check in!
estrellita- Chinese food sounds amazing! I have been craving it too lately. Hope you DH had a very Happy Birthday!
ewall- ouch! Praying you recover quickly! Good luck with work this week!
Same old stuff here...lots of school and therapy juggling. Nothing else planned.
I feel bad for my dad...he’s officially vaccinated and was all excited that he could safely be around “invulnerable people” unmasked. Somehow he thought that meant the boys and I had to remind him that L is our biggest risk factor and we will be wearing masks for awhile. Seriously not sure when we will feel comfortable because there’s not way of telling how his body will respond and it’s just not a chance worth taking.
luv2rn4fun It's tough. Like DH wants to go to the beach this summer and stay in a hotel. He doesn't seem to get that no kids will be vaccinated and therefore still at risk. I'm fine with the beach, but let's stay in a house by ourselves instead of a crowded hotel!
Are you guys able to drive to the beach? Hopefully you guys can find a compromise by staying in a house! My DH wants to travel somewhere further by car, possibly out of state, while I’m like “let’s just camp locally. Any change of scenery will be amazing (since we haven’t done anything in almost 2 years)! No need to drive forever with the kids, which in itself sounds horrible but add on all the germs when we need to stop...no thank you”. Not sure what we will end up doing.

We're renting a beach house for a week this summer, a 1.5 hour drive away from where we live. We had the exact same thought as both you and ewall . Let's get away from home, but not too far away, and stay somewhere that will allow us to easily isolate if we need to without having to cancel our trip entirely. We found a great place that has an incredible view, and if we end up spending the entire week doing nothing but staring out the windows watching the water and playing in the fenced yard, we'll still be happy. Hopefully we'll be able to do much more than that, but we planned for the potential that we might not.
Hey! Glad everyone is doing well! Regular work week but then a busy weekend. H and I are in a bit of a rut, so I found a babysitter and made patio reservations for lunch on Saturday. Sunday we are doing a distanced Easter bunny visit outside at the zoo, and then I’m hosting an egg hunt for my friends and their kids after. I normally go all out for things like that, but I’m feeling burnt out so I’m not planning on doing anything special for it.
DS started daycare on Monday, that’s gone better then Edie Ted except he’s changed his sleeping schedule because after only being awake for an hr and a half yesterday he fell asleep on the floor at daycare while playing. So we have to figure out more sleep for him but hopefully he will still sleep at night. (That’s been a huge struggle.)
Our fridge that I was so excited about isn’t working properly. It’s freezing everything. 😞 it’s being fixed but the part doesn’t come in until Friday.

I'm pretty sure A's stubbornness might have just saved us. She was being cranky when I picked her up so it took a couple extra minutes. As we got to an intersection not too far from daycare, I noticed a car in front of me with their flashers on. Then I saw the car in the intersection with the smashed front. THEN the one on its side. I have no idea how in the world this happened. The cops hadn't even arrived yet. Had to wait a little bit to turn and as I was waiting, the car with the smashed front had flames under the hood. By the time I was able to turn, most of the front of the car was on fire and the flames were probably a foot high. Everyone was out of the cars, but my anxiety over car accidents kicked in high gear. Today is the anniversary of a friend's death in a car accident, and the birthday of a friend that also died in an accident. Ugh. Anyway, I'm glad everyone appeared to be OK but that really freaked me out!

Sorry for the brain dump yesterday, that accident really freaked me out lol. Thankful we weren't the ones in that intersection!
In happy news, my parents both got their first shots today! Yay! They were traveling more since my dad retired, but haven't been able to much this last year. So this will be nice to get them back to traveling!
estrellita, I get it! It's always surreal when you realize that could have been you if you had not just done x to put you there at a different time.
Yes! I had just turned at that intersection to get to daycare not even 10 min earlier. From what I could tell, the car on its side had been going the way I go home. I felt like I was watching a movie watching the fire on the car. So crazy. I keep looking for info about the accident but there's nothing I can find. I like information, it eases my anxiety! Lol.
