I am feeling blah about my jeans. Any recs? Straight leg or boot cut mid rise. I have plenty of skinny jeans but I prefer a little more space around my legs. Stretch in the waist.
Self tanner? I hate the smell of 100% of self tanners so bonus points if the smell is less offensive. I usually do ones where you build up the color but since I dislike the smell I never build up color and still look pale. So maybe something for pale people that looks naturally darker.
I looooove my current jeans. The style name is goofy but they are SO flattering. Brand is Democracy and the “Ab-solution” jeans are what you’re looking for: subtle boot cut, stretch in fabric, stretchy waistband. I got a pair in a StitchFix box and then went and bought every other color available. They’re the only pants with a button that I wear now.

Same. I love these! Someone on the ML board recommended them and it’s been my go to the past couple of years.

waverly I use FakeBake tanning water. It comes out as foam. It does have a tanner smell to is, but it is pretty light compared to others I think. I use that and then on day 2 I start using Jergens natural glow to maintain color. FakeBake doesn't last more more a week (I get 4 or 5 days out of it if I'm working out regularly) but its also cheap.
I like the Madewell girlfriend cut jeans, but they have a really high rise, which I don’t love. I don’t know what to call it, but my torso is short compared to my legs (is that short waisted?) so a high rise tends to fold over.
I love the Jergens Natural Glow. It’s a little smelly but the smell goes away really quickly.
Jeans related... I am constantly having to pull my jeans up. The waist band is not too big, but not tight. Is it a fit issue? Is it because my thighs are larger relative to my waist? A material issue? Help me fix it.
waverly, I have a belt that will hold them up and be "okay", but I don't feel like I should have to wear a belt. And I'd rather not wear a belt because I'm lazy. But maybe everyone has this issue without a belt?
k3am , yes my pants and jeans fall down and need lots of adjusting unless I have a belt. The exceptions are things like yoga pants and leggings with a stretch waist, and I am sure even then I still adjust them sometimes.
sdlaura, I always view belts as more of a fashion item than function item for women. In my mind, jeans should not need a belt unless you're trying to dress them up. I wear jeans every day.. I can't imagine wearing a belt to sit in my office.
I have that problem with jeans because I’m very hourglass shaped. So if they don’t hit high enough on my hips, they want to work their way down. But if they’re too high, they fold over. It’s a delicate balance!

I also have a problem with jeans falling down and it's usually due to having the wrong fit for my thunder thighs and ass. I haven't purchased any American Eagle jeans since pre-kids, but my thighs and ass are not new thanks to softball and volleyball in school and AE was always my go-to. Old Navy does me well now (the Rockstar fit specifically) and prices are good. AE isn't outrageous, it's just been a while and I'm not sure on the size like I used to be.
Do people still wear belts?? I don't general wear non-stretchy pants these days, but I feel like I never see any woman with a belt.
I don’t feel like anyone sees my belt because my shirt covers it. I just have visions of people wearing low rise jeans and showing butt crack. Maybe you could get away with no belt in high rise?
ETA- if I work from home during the pandemic I would probably wear leggings. I can’t wear them all the time since I am in person. I find my belt more comfortable then hiking up my jeans a million times a day. I have a belt that is more comfortable than a fashion belt.
I go with mid to high rise jeans and they typically stay up. My favorites right now are the Old Navy skinny jeggings kind. They have an elastic waistband that goes up fairly high instead of button/zipper jeans. But they look and feel like normal jeans.
I also find that if jeans have too much stretch they fall down more. By the end of one day wearing them they're too baggy to stay up right.
I feel like Rockstar wasn't the most comfortable. I didn't wear a belt today and am wearing a higher rise loft red jeans, but they don't have them anymore.
I have been having luck keeping my Democracy “Ab”solution jeans up. I usually have the same issue with the jeans falling down. Also like twinmomma, the old navy jeggings stay up pretty well.
Everything else is just me constantly hiking up, or they sit comfortably at my armpits 🙄
.. I'm in the office today, so wearing jeans (gasp! Don't let my CEO know) but dressing them up with flats vs. socks/converse like I usually wear at home and.. my jeans aren't falling down. So.. apparently socks are my issue. Who knew?
