seeyalater52 , he is adorable! Everytime I see you post with a link in it, I get excited to see him.
I dont have many babies around me and other people's babies are the best!
THIS!
i've got two people on my team out on maternity leave right now and I'm mad that dumb ole covid means there aren't any baby office visits wherein I can huff the good baby smell. I made these babies blankets dammit, I should at least get to sniff them and stick my finger into their tiny fists.
But those thighs are next level cute.
I have a coworker that was (very, very) pregnant when we were last at the office. Her kid will be almost 2 when we go back.
I love working from home but dammit I want a baby snuggle.
We were at the playground the other day and one of DS1’s classmates was also there. They were having so much fun that as we were leaving I asked her mom when we could meet up next. We have made a plan to meet today, but she came out yesterday, in a class email, as an anti masker. Now I’m not so excited ☹️, and she’s a scientist.
Were they wearing masks at the playground?
No, and that should have been my clue, but we live in Los Angeles and I am frankly surprised that not only does she have this viewpoint, but that she felt comfortable sharing it with a group of parents that are generally very liberal and I know are concerned about making sure there are safety measures in place.
We got an email from our school district last night that a local clinic is set up to administer vaccines to students 16+ who have returned to in person learning and want a shot. A parent can email the district Covid vaccine coordinator, and if the kid qualifies based on birthday and they are enrolled in school, they will get a link for an appointment. I know LAUSD is doing clinics based on neighborhoods for their eligible students and families (anyone who lives in an LAUSD student’s household) as well. I hope as availability expands, these clinics do as well. So much less stressful than stalking the website to get an appointment like I did for me, my parents and MIL and DH.
There's been a bunch of graffiti happening on various structures in my little local park, and it's so fucking annoying. It's 100% lame ass suburban kids who think they're all hard and shit, spray painting the LAMEST SHIT all over the picnic pavilion and the historic mill and bridge structures down by the river.
I just want to shake them like their stupid spray cans. THIS IS THE MOST BORING GRAFITTI i'VE EVER SEEN AND DOES NOT MAKE YOU COOL. (who the fuck spraypaints "ACID" on a rock in a park? Like, kid...no. stop. It reminds me of the time somebody dared me to say a curse word in grade school and I was like, "oh man! uhhh, uhhh, CRAP!")
Why are kids so dumb? Half the time I'm not even opposed to graffiti in a lot of contexts. I love when train cars just get covered. Why the heck not, they're already ugly AF, tag away. And like the skate park in philly under the highway not far from my mom's house - it's sanctioned to do it there, and the whole place is just covered in really interesting art. It's cool as hell. But this? this is lame. And a lot of it is right on the edge of the river so if the county cleans it up theyre goign to have to do a bunch of contamination abatement so as not to get nasty chemicals in the river. And the kids undoubtably got a bunch of overspray in teh water and just didnt' care. LLLLLLAAAAAAME.

seeyalater52 your son is my spirit baby/animal I think. I had a forehead kiss birthmark like his (my mom told me an angel kissed me) and my legrolls were so asymmetrical my mom brought me to an orthopedic doctor because she was sure my legs were different lengths (they weren’t). I did outgrow the rolls ... until I grew them back.
