I feel like I am often guilty of asking for design advice and then never sharing any pictures with the board afterwards. So how about a thread where we share the before/after pictures of our projects? Doesn't matter how big or small. I'll post some of mine in the comments.
Accountingcat, SO.MUCH.BETTER! Who doesn't love a good before and after? I don't think I posted our basement walkout...if I get my act together I will do so in this thread.
So, I'm feeling sad and anxious because we just put our house on the market today. But that means I have some great comparison photos from our time here.

It's hard to tell, but we replaced the laminate with Corian counters, and put in a new stainless steel undermount sink just a few weeks ago. We intended to redo the backsplash too, but found ourselves in contract to buy and ran out of time.

Here are two projects we've been working on in quarantine. We are 90% done the laundry/mud room. We moved the laundry from the kitchen to the breezeway between our house and garage. In the listing they called it a family room, but I think it's much more functional now. The basement is maybe 50% finished. I still need to work on the stairs (adding handrail and balusters and a runner) and paint the rest of the walls, but the flooring has made a huge difference in how it feels.

I shared all my addition pics last year, but shortly after that we redid the basement walkout bc the old retaining wall was caving in (you can see the top 3 cinder blocks sliding in a bit). I wish I had better before/after pics - I need to be better about taking pics from the same angle!
Before - scary moldy walkout we never used.
After - walkout the kids love using w/their friends - let's a lot of light in the basement too.
We also encased the lally columns w/brick and oak (I'd been planning to do this for years but we finally got around to it). Excuse the mess, I need to pull the rest of the room together.

Here's my latest little project:
Patio before:
Patio after -- expanded a little, trying to foster moss between the pavers, put lights up -- all ready for the patio furniture that is apparently never coming.
devonpow i am in love with your house! All those built-ins! **swoon**
Random question- how much light does that arc floor lamp in your living room provide? Enough to read by in the absence of any other light? Our living room is a deep blood red with no overhead lights, which is awesome for watching tv but dark as hell for everything else. I've been eyeballing a lamp like that one online, but can't tell if it provides actual light or just accent lighting.

It’s enough for my 43 year old eyes to read by when I’m near it, but it’s not super bright. I just took a pic with the other lights off to give an idea
dr.girlfriend, are those shepherd's hooks holding up your patio lights? I'm trying to figure out the easiest solution to do the same thing around our patio but haven't found shepherd's hooks that are tall enough.
We moved in September, ordered new furniture and it's still not here. So we're doing what we can but it's taking forever to feel like anything is done. Mostly we're just painting, but we did redo the laundry room completely.
Dining room before:
Dining room after-ish: I kept the light fixture but spray painted it black and switched the bulbs/covers until we have a better idea of what new furniture we want:
I have been meaning to get my before and afters organized for awhile, so thanks for doing this! Most of mine are of our basement and outside, but in the upstairs, we mostly just added on, so it's the "before" of like our bedroom is just air, lol.
Hopefully I can get these to upload!
Exterior front--we added a garage with a master suite above.
Before/during/after of the exterior back of the house.
We only changed the pendants and repainted the kitchen--which we are about to expand, but it brightened it up SO much.
We added a family room on to the back of the house by the kitchen.
In the basement, here was the super creepy old utility room where we added a bathroom.
Here is the other side of the creepy utility room where we added a bedroom and a larger window for more light.
And finally, we expanded the basement and brightened it all up and opened up the basement stairwell a bit.

RockNVoll ,Yeah...I looked at all these online ideas for using planters and concrete and posts, but got lazy. :-)
These hooks I have are 84" tall which you would think might be plenty tall but in reality most people not as short as I am (I'm only five feet) would probably have to duck under them a little to get in there. I'm not too worried because we don't use our patio at all right now, and I figured if we start using it a ton when and if our patio furniture arrives I can find some planters and do the thing above, OR just stick the shepherd's hooks in planters for extra height if I'm still this lazy. :-) I dunno, concrete sounded like a hassle, but maybe I'll get a burst of energy later.

devonpow, Ha, too funny, this is why paint is tricky. The paint looks amazing in your pictures but I've had revere pewter & Edgecomb gray in my house and they didn't work. They read very green/muddy olive.

Ha, I just bought that exact shepherds hook from HD a few days ago, but I'm using it to hang a bird feeder. I knew it'd be too short for this lighting project, since you lose about 10" to the prongs that need to go into the ground, and probably at least another six to the lowest part of the hook itself. I'm not tall either (5'1"), but clotheslining my guests is probably frowned upon There are taller hooks available (like 10'), but I'm afraid they'll be too wobbly since most of them get that tall by extending.
I've also looked into those concrete planter ideas and may just have to go that route. We have ridiculously rocky "soil" on our entire property (our landscapers told us they've never seen the likes of it), so trying to get anything in the ground is daunting. Sigh, was hoping for something easier--I'm lazy!
