Bonus: Yes. Atlanta is the pollen capitol of the USA. We have a season for about 3 weeks in April we call THE POLLENING. It starts with the yellow pine pollen covering everything for about 14 days and ends with everything else blooming making you miserable. Zyrtec is my friend.
Sunday: 20 mile skate cancelled due to wind. Spent the day with a friend, lounging by her pool, drinking wine and eating finger foods. Now I'm going to eat dessert for dinner, watch trash TV, and surf the web. Glorious!
QOTW: YES! I am currently a hot mess of allergies--running nose, watery and burning eyes, congested head. UGH!
Still recovering from a foot injury. I am getting more and more bitter Betty about it as the days pass and I am not recovered.
Friday- nothing Saturday- yoga Sunday- nothing
Tomorrow is a holiday for me.. I am walking the Patriots Day Mile with my Mom. We will be going slow as I am injured and she is 5 weeks post hip replacement. Let's hope we both make it!
melmel48 I dont recall the nature of your injury, but it might be worthwhile to check out Squat University online and the book Rebuilding Milo, both by the same guy whose name escapes me right now. Ive successfully used his approaches to rehab 2 chronic injuries that did not respond to other treatment or rest, and were not healing on their own. I hope you get relief soon. I think it's amazing that you and your mom are doing that walk together!
Fri: 4 easy + abs Sat: 16 w/10 at marathon pace. 🥵 Sun: rest day, but a loottt of work around the house.
I’m a little sad that for the 2nd year there’s no Boston Marathon today. 😔 Obviously I get it, understand it, it’s the right call, but I miss it.

Fri: Rest Sat: 8 miles Sun: 3.5 miles plus strength
I hate pollen. I hate it slightly less now that my migraines are under control (as in, the sinus crap I get doesn't make my migraine worse, or cause one most of the time anymore) but it's still awful to run when the pollen count is high. I wheeze and sniffle and sneeze all spring long. My H makes fun of me for how I fill my pockets with tissues for my long outdoor runs, but the pollen is awful. And, whatever pollen is in my current area seems to be the worst of any I've encountered. I just with the trees would bloom already so counts would go down.

I am very sad as well. I am from Boston and it has always been one of my favorite days of the year. I was supposed to run Boston last year.

This is great! Thank you. I will definitely check it out.
I went to the doctor last week and got an xray on my foot... but no answers.
My Mom is so cute. A few days after her surgery she asked me to do the Patriots Day Mile, so she would have a goal to work for. She has been practicing! Today is the big day!
I had to look back on my app to see what I did. I worked all weekend. Boooo. But I did get in some workouts.
Friday: 30 min Peloton Saturday: 30 min Peloton Sunday: 45 min Peloton
I typically don’t get allergies and we are actually hoping to move to the Atlanta suburbs this summer (if my work approves....). My DH has fall and spring allergies, so your posts scare me a tiny bit 😊

How does it work for people that qualified but couldn’t run last year? Are they giving people an extra year or two to run it? I would be so bummed to qualify only to have it canceled! 😢

To be honest, I am not sure. I know registration opens today.
I did not qualify; I was on a waiver. I had completed my 20 mile training run and had just a 22 mile training run to go when it got postponed to September.
I then started training again in the summer and it got completely cancelled. I was given the option to do the Boston Marathon virtual, but couldn't get on board with that.
I took it very hard after doing all of the training and have friends who qualified and are just praying they can get in this year. It was rough all around.
melmel48, that’s awful, I’m sorry. I can’t imagine doing a 20-miler only to have the race called. My marathon was canceled (no postponement) pretty early on last year so I hadn’t gotten too far into training. I’m 4 weeks in now which isn’t too bad, but it’s far enough that if mine were still to get canceled this year I’d be so disappointed.
Oh, and I am NOT a virtual race person, so the virtual Grandma’s Marathon was never going to be a thing for me last year.
