jigsy - I thought I'd follow up and see how this year went for you. It's been such a weird time in general and to move overseas for school during a pandemic would make it harder. So, thought I'd see how things have gone/are going for you. Any next steps?
Thanks for checking in mrsukyankee ! It has been a really weird year. School started off feeling relatively normal, we had in-person classed for about an hour each day in combination with online tutorials and videos. Then winter break hit and everything shut down. Won't lie, winter was pretty tough - some due to feeling pretty isolated, some due to the lack of sunlight, and the overall feeling of the cohort was really negative - the classroom and teaching experience has been pretty poor.
But, I recently moved into a flat with a few friends, and that has been great. Plus the weather has been spectacular and I have the most amazing patio/view in Edinburgh. School is still pretty shit to be honest. The uni is not handling any of this very well, but, I'm over halfway done, so we just have to soldier on a little longer. lol
Next steps...so in the air. I want to stay because I feel like I really haven't gotten to experience living here at all, but it would be so much easier to go back stateside. I am not making any decisions now, but I am pretty anxious to start job hunting...but it feels too early because I can't work full-time until September. Hopefully I'll be able to find something great here - and by here, I mean the UK. While I'd love to stay in Edinburgh, realistically, London seems like it has far more opportunity. Any thoughts or advice you have on the job hunting would be welcome

I would start now even with September being the end date - most companies know that about MAs here. Most people use Linkdin to find positions or get connected with a head hunter. What type of job/work are you looking at? If I have any connections, I'll send them your way (even if they don't have a job, they may know how to connect you to someone who does).
