We have finally signed on with someone to reno our kitchen....but the work won't be able to be done until December. Between backlog of materials from suppliers (especially cabinets), and the huge demand for kitchen and bath renovations, this was the best they could do. At this point, I am disappointed to wait so long, but at least I know we will finally have the kitchen we've always wanted for this house! I will definitely appreciate any and all advice and opinions moving forward. As soon as I get the digital renderings, (hopefully tomorrow), I will share them here.
Our remodel/gut job kitchen started in June and finished 6 months later. This was pre-pandemic (barely finished right when it started). But we took down walls, had an engineered beam, custom walnut cabinets, moved water and gas lines. It was a huge project.
Can’t wait to see pictures. We’re having the same material issue with some updates we’re having done to our house. This is going to drag on for months!
Oh no! It really stinks. Our designer told us that even if we ordered our cabinets today, they wouldn't be delivered until at least September. And, she's going to book the counter templating appointment ASAP because they are booked out weeks in advance. As much as I hope for everything to move quickly once they get started, I have a feeling it will take forever.

Have patience. It’ll be worth it!
We've had lots of roadblocks before now, so we definitely have had to be patient. Thankfully, there's no structural or utility changes, so I am hoping things go relatively smoothly once the actual work starts.

kellady1234 We are going to have quartz. We were quoted Cambria, but I saw that they had other brands in their showroom, so we’ll see.
We will have to clear out our living room because when we install the new section of hardwoods, the dining area, living room, and hallway to our bedrooms will also be refinished. We could have gone with just the kitchen and dining area, but ultimately we felt it would just look better if we did it all. We are looking into renting a Pod or something similar, because we don’t have a garage, to store our furniture, and probably the appliances until the floors are done. I will have to talk with the appliance people about that when we order. I’m hoping we can just put the old appliances in the pod, and the new appliances can be delivered when they can go in their spots.
I feel like it’s going to be a logistical nightmare, but keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end.
