Exterior paint consult??

Do any of the paint companies or...anyone... offer some kind of consultation service for exterior painting? We need to repaint our house sometime in the next year or so, and we have contrasting trim, shutters, and some beams and posts on our porch. I’d like to consider some options to freshen up the look a bit, but I don’t know where to start. I tried using Sherwin-Williams’ online tool with a picture of our house, but honestly that was pretty useless and very difficult to use.

I just did a virtual consult with Sherwin Williams for our interior. It was 30 min talking with a SW expert. I bet they would do exterior consults. Prior to the appointment they wanted 5 or so photos, a description of the project, and your likes/dislikes.

Our local Benjamin Williams store has a person in-store who does consults. I think they charge but then you get credit back for paint?

My local Benjamin Moore dealer offers this kind of service as well.

Yep, my local BM has a color consultant on staff, too. Ours helped a ton with picking colors inside the house, I'm sure they help with exteriors, too. And she was free of charge so long as we bought the paint from that store (though that's really based on the honor system; they have no way to force you to buy from them--not that I'm encouraging anyone to stiff them!).
