I work for a large university. The University has extended flex work until September. But my boss isn't going to be requiring people to return then if they're not comfortable.
I'm hoping to go back one day a week or one day every other week sometime this summer.

I clicked on the first one. I can work every day in my office as of last June, but I don’t because of the school situation. When both kids are in school, I go into the office, but it hasn’t been super often. Work has said the plan will be to bring everyone back in the fall depending on conditions. We have many employees who can’t work from home at all or just very little so they’re concerned about creating two classes of workers, especially because the ones who can do their jobs remotely generally make more money and this would cause even more feelings of things not being fair.
I think we might have a September return date. It's pretty loose. I started this job in January so I've never been to the office. It's going to be so strange.
Not looking forward to public transportation at all.

My situation is a bit different as I sit in a regional office but my function is based out Corp headquarters in another state/time zone.
My local office officially repopulated in July 2020, but esp given my situation I have some flexibility and I’m still not back 5 days a week (currently more like 3). I also wfh 100% November - February.

Not planning on going back daily, the office is open for essential people but they are asking if your function doesn't require you to be onsite to not come to the site.my company has been very strict with covid precautions, there is in depth contact tracing, 6 feet everywhere , ppe galore and travel doesn't happen without approval from the executive leadership that sits below the ceo. When they do open up to more than essential workers they have said they make it mandatory for everyone and it will just be those that cant do their job remote or if you really need to come to the site then you will have a space but I don't anticipate alot of people will go back regularly.
My office has been open with strict protocols since June last year. I went in a couple of times last summer but when cases started going up in the fall I stopped going in at all. My team are still all remote and the corporation is downsizing its office space because nobody wants to come back full time.

The office is still closed and my employer plans to keep everyone WFH permanently. It's more my employer's plan than mine. I'm so grateful to be WFH during the pandemic, but it wouldn't be my preference otherwise.

SS - my office reopened in July (? I think?) with 100% mandatory return in October and almost no precautions taken - I live in FL, so cases have been out of control.
My H works for a manufacturing company. The manufacturing floor has been open the entire time (they make some components for medical device) but his group has no return date.
He's in corporate accounting and he has been told his group will be the last to re-enter. And even then, it will likely be some sort of wfh and in-office split which is a huge change.
I work at a school and yes, I’ve been back in my classroom full time since August. Even though students were remote until January, we were required to teach from our empty classrooms 🙄
I was out April and May 2020 and returned June. They are allowing partial WFH since then half the week and I find that too frustrating to go back and forth and I prefer on site for my job duties.
university with professional healthcare learners. Their clinical and pre clinical curriculum has remained mostly in person with precautions. Which means staff have been around the whole time.
I picked the one closest. Office is open and I go in 1-2 days a week, but I don't have to. Current return to work date is 1 July, but everyone is sort of waiting to see if we get another extension.
We have a date, but it's a conditional date and I doubt if we will meet that goal. I do wonder if they will change the criteria because I feel like the milestone they set is a high bar, but I appreciate their commitment to safety.

Since June we've been allowed in the office, but no requirement to be there. I go a couple times a month usually. However, they have told us that we are under our current telework until Labor day and they will tell us in July what happens after labor day. So I put the return date after labor day. Hoping that there will be a more liberal policy going forward, I do'nt want to go back!
I WTH only for those two months. I have been back full time since May 2020. I am a manufacturing supervisor though so it was never reasonable to do from home long term. Our line operators were laid off for those two months.
I was just told last week that I have to go back in the office 5 days a week June 1. I’ve successfully WFH since March 13 but they don’t care, they want us in the office where I’ll sit with my door closed. There’s no reason to go back but they’re old school.
My company has a handful of offices open in other cities, but none of the three offices that are somewhat local to me are open. Of the offices that are open, they are currently on a volunteer basis, and employees are broken in to two groups who are allowed to use the office alternating weeks. They had actually scheduled our Philly office to open and two weeks prior sent out a survey and I'm guessing they didn't get the results that they wanted because they cancelled the opening. There has been zero mention of my office reopening. That said, I know that it will at some point. Upper Management has been very clear that we are not a work from home company.
Our target reopen date is Labor Day, but even then everyone will WFH 3 days per week indefinitely which is a HUGE shift from pre-pandemic. I think our firm has realized how well we can all WFH and isn't interesting in paying $$$$ for 3 floors of a downtown high rise anymore. We'll be switching to a "hoteling" model where no one has ownership over their work stations, you'll be assigned a work space each day you're in the office.

My company started return to office the first week of July. They have an alternating schedule with 50% capacity max each day. People can apply to continue to work from home, and probably 1/3 of the office is still working from home full time.
My office is in NJ, but my company headquarters is in a rural, central US state which never really shut down. They did stop pushing so hard last fall when there was an outbreak at our headquarters building, but they never re-closed any offices.

I switched jobs last month, and my new job is fully remote (and was even before the pandemic). So, I haven't had to work in an office since March 2020.
However, my old job, even though I could do it fully from home, started getting weird about in January 2021 and asking those of us who didn't have an official accommodation to start coming into the office once or twice a week. The reason given to me was that our big boss thought those of us working from home were slacking off and b/c he'd been in the office every single day since the start of the pandemic without getting sick, we all needed to be more "team players". Ugh. I worked on a university campus. Where the students didn't even have to be on campus (most classes were remote). I didn't even work with current students and we couldn't have my audience visit campus anyway. So dumb. That was only 1 small part of the reason I jumped at the chance to take this new WFH job.
I'll answer for my DH, since I was doing 100% WFH long before covid.
His company is considered essential, so he WFH for maybe ... a few weeks? It's hard to recall exactly. But then he and a limited number of people were back in the office most of the time, unless they had to quarantine because of travel or an exposure. They still have some people WFH, or WFH more often than they used to, but I don't know if they've reached their new steady-state yet or if they expect to go more in-person at some point.
Whatever happens at the office, though, the next big thing seems to be resuming regular travel. DH had one work trip the week before Thanksgiving, and has had two short trips since. Now he has like ... five trips (that require flights/overnights, but within the U.S.) scheduled in the coming month. He's fully vaccinated and is very careful when he travels, but I can't say I'm thrilled about this part of the return to normal.
Two of my co-workers have international work travel planned for late June. I'm still not 100% convinced that it's going to happen, even though technically all the rules/exceptions are in place for them to attend the event.
I could see myself going to maybe one domestic conference in late 2021, but the industry is still feeling things out. Most events are still virtual until at least August, and there are only one or two I can think of that are advertising that they will definitely, 100% hold an in-person conference.
No return date for us, we can choose whether or not to continue WFH for now. I'm vaccinated and am planning on going in occasionally when I feel like it. I don't think we'll be expected to until the fall (and I think a lot of people will WFH more often permanently).
I said I don't have a return date yet. My office is open with a reduced capacity now and while not required to be there, I am permitted should I wish to go. And I do not wish to go.
There is some very general talk of my broader team (60+ people) as a whole returning for *some* time in the office (1 - 3 days/week) in the fall, but it's a very vague plan at this point and we have a lot of autonomy at this time. Long-term, I anticipate only being in the office 1 or 2 days/week. I would prefer not to commute there at all, but I don't feel strongly enough about it to make a fuss, and it sounds like my boss has the general expectation for everyone on our more immediate team (6 people) to be there in person at least once/week.
SS I've been working from home since 2014, when I moved away from my office so I'll continue WFH unless I leave my company.
However, my office has not reopened. Our office lease is up in October, they are having people go in and clean out their space. They plan to get a smaller space with some conference rooms and some cubes that people can use if they come in but people will be WFH for the most part going forward. We went paperless a couple years back, people really don't need much other than some basic office supplies and their computers.
