My credit score was last checked in Feb 2021. It’s gone up a little (35 points or so according to Experian) since then. Can I request the mortgage lender pull my credit again so I can get the best rate ? Or will they only check it again at the end to make sure I’m not on a spending spree.
They’ve got me at 3.09 right now and I think it would easily go back into the 2s.
For us, once you were above 740 all the rates were the same. If you've crossed that threshold I might ask them to repull.
Well color me confused. The lender said if it goes over 700 (and I’m at 698 from when they pulled it in Feb) I get an extra 1k in credit.
When I looked up Equifax I’m at 780. Experian 768 and Transunion 767.
But the Experian app I have says I’m 720 something.
I’m so confused 🤷🏻♀️ is it worth the gamble to have it pulled?
I’ve been paying all my bills 2X a month to get it up so that could be it ? I also don’t use credit cards and barely use use credit so my score wasn’t where I wanted it to be in Feb. LOL
Any chance you could send what you pulled to your lender, and see what they say? Maybe that would be enough for them and they wouldn't need to pull it?
But either way, I would say if you're that close to going into the next category, I would say it's worth them updating it for a better rate.

Update ! I was “locked in” but my lender is so great. They ran it again and it was higher! So my interest rate is a tad lower as a result now ! I got another form to sign off on and all is good now :) Definitely make sure you check if your score is on the fence for that extra bump !

Their scores do look a little lower on their end. They use a sum of the scores and have some older model to come up with your total score.
