I have curtains everywhere else on the first floor but I think they would get in the way of the built ins in our informal eating area so I’m thinking either blinds or Roman shades or something else, but not sure what. Any ideas?
I would do wood blinds, honeycomb shades with the top-down option, our plantation shutters.
Is there anything in the other windows besides curtains? I'd think about whether you want all the windows to match from the outside, particularly if they're all street facing.

good call. Nothing but lightweight linen full length curtains.

Beautiful room! I think there are enough wood tones already so I'd do something in white or a lighter color.
We have these top-down bottom-up Roman shades that are very simple and sit within the widow frame. I think something similar would look great in your room.

Hunter Douglas Architect series honeycomb blinds. Top down and bottom up opening, mounted inside the frame, lots of neutral colour and light screening options, including linen look finish. They are really easy to adjust and ours (installed on huge windows) are still working perfectly two years later.
Do you actually need to close shades/curtains for light filtering? Or is it just for decorative purposes? I wonder if roman shades w/a box valance above the big window would look best? Sort of a finished look but it wouldn't block the light.
I like curtains, but I agree, the panel near the seat might look crowded. But I think those could work if it's a light/thin linen.
I would say a top-down bottom-up in a light linen color. The trim is so beautiful I'd want to mount inside the frame to have them disappear if possible.
Every time I see a new picture of your house I fall in love with it more.

aspentosh, k3am, Thanks. We feel pretty spoiled. We stalked the neighborhood for awhile a bought a very run down house using the zillow "make me move" option way back when that was a thing.
