Just curious if we are the lone soldiers still waiting for our refund. I filed on Feb. 11 through TurboTax (this may have been my mistake) and it was accepted by the IRS on Feb. 12. There were some issues and things the IRS had to handle on our behalf but I’d really like my money.
Long version- Dh received unemployment so that had to be handled after the fact by the IRS since we filed before the American recover plan was in place. Additionally, we have not received any stimulus payments because DH was laid off right at the end of 2019 and was given almost a year’s severance, stipend for COBRA, six weeks PTO payout, and his final 9 days of pay. This put us over the income limit but in 2020 we made pennies compared to 2019. Also, we bought insurance from the exchange for a few months and there was a form TurboTax didn’t have so I got a letter from the IRS on 4/1 that I had to fill out an additional form. I filled it out and faxed it back 7 weeks ago. The week after I faxed it back it ended up not being necessary because of another part of the recovery plan. Clearly, we are a difficult tax family this year but as someone with an unsure job situation and a 5-figure refund. I’m a little antsy.
If you've had problems with your return, it's not a surprise you are still waiting, especially if you had to file any additional paperwork. You may wish to have a CPA look over your taxes next year. I don't think anything can be done about not receiving a stimulus payment.

We’ve never had anything but a simple W-2, mortgage interest, donations, you know, normal stuff. We also hopefully won’t going forward. Everything was done properly with the exception of TurboTax not having one of the forms that the IRS needed. TurboTax has it now but did not when I filed in February, thus the IRS needing me to fill it out. It’s sort of moot as all totals are zeroed out now under the American Recovery Plan but at least I did my part. I’m not surprised it’s taking so long either, simply wondering if anyone else in the “received unemployment in 2020” group is still waiting on their refund.
As for the stimulus, those are included when you file for the stimulus recovery rebate credit. It is ultimately lumped in with your tax refund. Well, the first two are, not sure about the third. I know how to get it, just curious if it’s taking 3+ months for anyone else to get theirs.
I was hoping someone would post this so I would know I’m not alone. I changed from married to single and requested the 2nd stimulus “balance” as recommended by Turbo Tax and have been waiting since 3/1. I’m getting frustrated.
court26 Misery loves company? Haha. Seriously though, I know this is a tough time for the IRS with all of the changes but I’d really like to know where my money is.
puppylove64 I downloaded the app and check every day or two on the refund and it just says that it’s still being processed and they will give a date when for payment once it’s complete, or something like that. I also checked the payment tracker for the stimulus payments to see if it’s different and it keeps saying they don’t have any information. I expected that response based on our 2019 taxes but had hoped that somehow the recovery rebate credit form would show there but I guess not.
It isn’t the end of the world to wait and I’m trying to be patient but I prefer my money in my own bank account.
Mine says "still being processed" as well. I knew it was going to delay by asking for the stimulus money, but my divorce was final in 2020, so it seems silly to not ask for money that was sent out in 2021....and as you know things were set up for people to request....and the Turbo Tax advisor told me how to do it. I also would like to get the last stimulus as I make 1/3 of what we did as a couple and am trying to buy a house and make financial decisions. Anyway, I don't know of anyone IRL who is still waiting, and I can't really find anything online about timeline for these types of situations!
We had unemployment income and filed in early March. We got our refund pretty quickly but we're still waiting for the IRS to adjust our income for the untaxed UI, which makes us eligible for the most recent round of stimulus checks. So, yep, we're still waiting on part of our refund but at least we got some of it already!
Also, FYI, the IRS has until the end of the year to pay out the most recent stimulus. Hopefully it won't take that long!
We did eventually get ours, but it took about 8 weeks. We also didn't get any stimulus checks because we didn't quality with 2019 returns, but did with 2020. We were able to get the first two checks as part of the refund. For the most recent one, it took about 3 weeks after they finally issued our refund for us to get it. I do think you will have to wait for them to process your tax return before you get the third stimulus, but hopefully, it will come quickly then.

We filed in mid February as well and have not gotten our return. It’s rather large and I would like it. We had nothing unusual. I have no idea what’s going on. I tried to call this week and after following all the prompts they just say we’re busy, goodbye.

I think the IRS is woefully understaffed and anything other than the simplest of returns is taking forever, covid, the stimulus and the new child tax setup are all putting a lot of extra pressure on an agency that has seen a lot of cuts. I filed at the end of March, my refund took about 3 weeks, but it was probably the shortest easiest tax return I've ever filed, literally w-2 wages and a standard deduction. No refundable credits, no extra schedules, nothing that would cause any sort of delays. My sibling with more complicated taxes filed right after me and is still waiting. My stimulus situation has me confused, because the IRS sent me extra money after filing, but I received the full payment for $4200 for myself, my ex and my daughter in mid march, then they sent me an extra $700 after I filed, so I'm pretty sure they are just overwhelmed at the IRS.
We got our 2020 refund but still have not received our 2019 refund. It’s 5 figures so we are pretty pissed that our supposed “tax advocate” we have from the government hasn’t been able to figure out where the hell hell our $17,000 is.
I filed March 1 and my refund and latest stimulus check are pending in my bank account for 6/22. I’m so excited! As of today “still being processed” on the IRS site.
