I apparently am looking for a non-existent sunscreen.
I want something lightweight (so I guess chemical) that can be applied to my Face daily but with NO SCENT. I know the neutropenia daily defense spray was recommended so I bought that and it’s great except I cannot take the smell. Is there something similar that doesn’t have fragrance?

Biore the Japanese version might fit this bill- you can find it on Amazon. I wear the la roche posay daily moisturizer with spf 30 daily and I don’t find it has any smell.
My moisturizer has a sunscreen in it, that I apply daily. It has an SPF of 30, and is scentless. I use Murad’s day cream for aging (the purplish packaging). Last time I bought it, they were out of what I normally buy so bought another (lime green packaging) and it has a bit more scent, but will switch back.
The texture of the supergoop unseen almost sent me over the edge
I'm not a fan of it either. I have oily skin and by the end of the day my face just felt slimy.
Same! I like the Play much better but it’s definitely scented.
I love the Missha Sun Milk but it does have the lightest of fragrance. I’ve heard good things about the Biore though. But you definitely want a stand-alone sunscreen, beyond what’s in your daily moisturizer.

I’ve used both EltaMD and Unseen. I like both but probably prefer EltaMD with one caveat. The first bottle I got matched my skin really well - I buy the tinted version. I have fair/light skin. The second bottle was noticeably darker and almost orange. That one I can’t use. I just ordered again and I’m crossing fingers it’s the color of the first.
Unseen is good, it’s just a very specific texture. It does lay nicely under makeup.
Biore watery essence - Japanese sunscreen, I get it on Amazon
This is my favourite by far.
I’ve heard, but haven’t looked into, the claim that because in the US the FDA regulates sunscreen, the US technology is far behind sunscreens made in Europe and Japan. IMO, it’s vastly superior to an other sunscreen I’ve tried
ETA: I will say that it sucks that it comes in small bottles, although I know a little bit goes a long way
I also love the Biore watery essence, but I always forget to reorder before I run out.
Right now I'm using Neutrogena Clear Face and it's good. It soaks in quickly, and I have oily skin and it doesn't make it feel more greasy. I'm pretty sensitive to smells and it doesn't have any sort of scent.
I really like the EltaMD - it goes on nice and doesn't feel sticky, slimy or oily. I haven't used the tinted version but it comes in tinted or untinted.
My everyday concealer had 50+ sunscreen protection and no odor. Clinique may offer a sun protection They don’t put it in their makeup, so I think it’s a separate product. I like their products if you feel inspired to check it out. Maybe even check Sephora or similar store.
Laroche Posay makes some great completely fragrance free sunscreens. They are a bit more than drug store brands, but I think they are worth the price. I'm VERY sensative to fragrances, and this is the only brand I can use.
I tried supergoop unseen based off recs here. It is amazing - lightweight, unscented, and immediately absorbs into my skin. I hate all other facial sunscreens I’ve tried and this one is more like a primer. So good.
I can't stand sunscreen smell. The only one I'll use is EltaMD. It's not super lightweight, though. But it doesn't smell!
Maybe because they gave me the tinted EltaMD stuff, but it had a super metallic smell to me. I have not tried the untinted.
I never buy tinted products - definitely could be the difference. Metallic smell is less offensive to my nose than chemical sunscreen smell, though!
I've always used the body lotion formula of EltaMD all over. This thread has inspired me to order some of the facial formula and see if it feels lighter.
