I need help because I am sweating so much and my running shorts are not absorbing all of the liquid. I usually walk to the gym, run on the treadmill and walk back home. By the time I am done with the treadmill, my shorts and legs are dripping; there’s a puddle on the belt and my socks are getting wet. I fully change into new shorts and top before walking hone and wipe down the equipment and floors but I’d like to not be soaking wet at the gym at all.
I don’t want to wear tights because they are too hot on my outside walk (unless there’s a kind that are not stifling). I usually don’t love the shorts with the tights built in but I fear that’s what the only solution will be. I wear Nike drifit shorts and the Target brand equivalent. Plus a couple of off brands; I have the same problem with all of them.
Are there any options other than tights or built on tights?
I have the same issue and just kind of...let it go. It is what it is. I do not, under any circumstances ever, wear gray down below cause it shows all sweat.
There are a lot of shorts with built in underwear - would those work for you? Not with full on shorts built in, but just the underwear part. Or just wear black lycra shorts that are tighter and more like tights rather than loose shorts?
There is literally no way I'd ever wear tights. Screw it. Too hot! Way too hot.

I have this same problem. I've found that if I wear tighter shorts (but not tights - never tights unless it's the dead of winter) it helps marginally. Otherwise, I just deal with it. But I do nothing between the gym and home (no stopping for coffee, etc) b/c to me it's super uncomfortable and annoying.
Also, if I'm planning to do more than just cardio at the gym, I do it first. So I'm not nearly so sweaty when I'm on the weight machines or a mat or whatever. Then I run, then I leave and head straight home to shower.

I sweat a lot. I don’t think there are any magical shorts that will prevent you or me from being very sweaty, as you described. After an outdoor run on a hot summer day, I look like I’ve jumped into a pool.

Yeah, all my running shorts have the built in underwear. I have one tennis-style skirt with the longer compression/bike shorts underneath but those run warmer than I'd like. Maybe I can make the shorts with the compression what I wear at the gym and use the more comfortable styles for the outside walks.
I'm glad to hear the commiseration; I swear no one else that I see at the gym is sweating nearly as badly and I think I'm scaring people in the locker room. If I didn't love my walk home as a cool down, I'd shower at the gym to avoid being this wet.
