Child Tax Credit Question

Google is failing me.  Have they said when we will find out if the Child Tax Credit will continue at the higher rate into next year?  Is that something that will be part of the Omnibus that Congress votes on in the Fall?  The current amount ($3600/$3000) is only for this year as of now, correct?  Thanks!

Yes, the $3600/$3000 is a temporary expansion for 2021. As for it continuing, I honestly don’t know. It could be part of another omnibus bill for 2022 but I’m sure it will be battled back and forth for a good long while and I wouldn’t expect to know until closer to year end.
