Have we talked about this? Who lifts? What do you use, if anything at all? Some people said C4 made them itch. But some describe it as a tingly feeling. I bought individual packets of C4 but a small tub of Prolific bc it doesn’t have beta Alinine in it.
Thoughts? I wasn’t sure if this is a controversial topic or not.
I have lifted for 10+ years. The only supplement i use is protein powder because i have trouble hitting my daily protein goal without it. As long as a person is esting a nutrient rich diet, 99% of supplements are unnecessary unless you are an elite athlete.
That being said, most of the trainers, serious lifters, and fitness pros i know and/or follow on SM seem to prefer either the Legion of 1stphorm brands.
I'm an endurance runner so what I do is probably not the same as what you'd do for lifting. I take Generation Ucan. I'll take it if I'm running first thing in the am. If it's less than 10 miles, I'll take one scoop. 10-15 miles - two scoops and more than that I'll sometimes add peanut butter too.
I also take an electrolyte capsule when it's hot. That's about it.
I take this stuff mainly to not pass out when I'm running - and need to take something that won't upset my stomach. Taking protein post workout for recovery is more helpful to me. It also ensures that I don't eat everything not nailed down in the next 8-24 hours.
When I strength train, I don't take anything else before a workout - mainly because I don't want the calories. Taking protein post workout is still helpful for post recovery.

I've lifted heavy for years and I've never taken a preworkout. I take some carbs in during a lifting session, either in my protein shake or in the form of gummy candy. I don't think it's really necessary if you're eating a reasonable diet.

I use gu, bloks chews, and run gum for long runs. Skratch for really long runs!

During the run I'll use gu or maurten. I can't stand the taste of electrolyte drinks anymore so I just stick to the capsules instead. I forget what brand I use. Succeed S caps maybe?
