I received legos for Mother's Day and he is getting legos for Father's Day. DS and I are also going to Florida for 3 weeks and we are leaving a few days after Father's Day. He will be able to draw, paint, build lego, and other creative things that are hard for him to do with DS around.
Every year I take a picture of our kid at the beach with D-A-D spelled out, and I got a notebook that she answers questions in, draws a picture, and does a handprint. I make breakfast, we usually go to the beach and I'm on kid duty the whole time, and then steak for dinner. He never gives me ideas for things he wants, and I'm terrible at presents so I don't bother wasting the money lol.
He does want a smoker but that's not happening.
I never get presents for my parents 😬 were not a big gift giving family I never think of it until I read about it here.
I got him a nice linen guayabera shirt. He used to wear one when we started dating (he’s from Miami and it came from a shop on Calle 8). It’s been too small for him for several years, but it’s still hanging in the closet because it’s nostalgic for him. So I got him another one that fits.
A giant Jenga, a custom painting from our son (he’s 2), and whatever fun things he wants to do that day. He just learned he’s not returning to in person work at all, so I’m nixing the framed photo I was going to give him.
I feel like it’s not enough because he’s so amazing, but he’s also not really into gifts.
H wanted to do his first triathlon over Father's Day weekend which has cost us $$$$ in registration fees, the hotel, various accessories and clothing. And he's making me and DS spectate it, lol. That's his gift.
Sounds like my life. DH’s first tri was last weekend and so much money. Ugh. And I got attacked by cicadas while spectating and waiting around.
I got DH a dad jokes book and also a home improvement book (we're overhauling a large shed into a basic cottage).
Thanks for mentioning the dad jokes book. Every day DH sends a joke or two to our 39 yr old daughter who lives in Japan, (I think they're dumb, but she loves them), and he needs new material. lol

Oh no! I didn't even consider the cicada situation That's definitely another downside of this whole thing.
The nice thing about Mother's Day being first is that what he does sets the tone for what I need to do.
And he did nothing, so that makes it easy for me.
That's usually the case here, too. I used to have my son fill out a cute sheet of questions, make a card, make something to give him. Then I just started matching what he did which is usually nothing, with a side order of complaining about taking our son out. This year he was actually really thoughtful and I don't even know what to do for him.
We do a teach your kid to fish day thing on that weekend every year so we'll be up at the lake for that so I'm going to go with a gift, but he's not someone who needs or wants a lot so it's tough. We also bought a Weber grill and said it was a joint Mother/Father's day gift for us so he won't want anything expensive. We are definitely loving that grill!!
I got my mom flowers so want to do something equivalent for my dad. But is there an equivalent to flowers for someone who doesn't drink coffee, alcohol, etc? And is trying to eat healthy so can't do his favorite treats?
He's so hard to shop for. He's not into sports or music or anything. He basically works (can't buy for that) and is into a hobby I also can't buy for.

We are camping with some other families for FD this year. H decided that he wanted to see Phish in Vegas as his gift, which is completely over the top and extravagant, so I’ll have to come up with something equally crazy for next Mother’s Day.
He travels every week and could really use a new carry on, but spending another $600 on a piece of luggage seems insane. I’m on the fence about it, but will probably end up getting it.
My dad is getting a new pair of waterski gloves. I have no clue what I’m gettin DH. He’s bummed that he can’t find a mesh baseball hat that fits his head (he has a huge head apparently?). So I would love to find one but since he’s searched everywhere and hasn’t found anything I doubt I’ll be able to either.

I tracked down some vinyls from my FIL's band for MH. Plus, he's getting a telescoping pencil pouch and some new pens he wants. I'll probably get a couple of notebooks too.
We need a new bbq, so I may buy that too as more of a family gift.
share.memebox.com/x/uKhKaZmemebox referal code for 20% off! DD1 "J" born 3/2003 DD2 "G" born 4/2011 DS is here! "H" born 2/2014 m/c#3 1-13-13 @ 9 weeks m/c#2 11-11-12 @ 5w2d I am an extended breastfeeding, cloth diapering, baby wearing, pro marriage equality, birth control lovin', Catholic mama.
A set of 3 Chirp wheels. He is constantly asking me to walk on his back so this way he'll be able to do it himself. Also a new pair of Nike slides. I've used his a fair bit.
H's major gift will be the day off. I just realized my mom will be here on Father's Day, because she's going to the kids' dance recital the night before. Although that was completely unplanned, it's a lucky break; now I don't have to keep the kids entertained all alone while H sleeps in.
I'm also getting him a lumbar pillow to replace the sad, rolled-up towel he's been using in his home office. Plus an extra-fancy bag of coffee beans and some local beer.

I might call him? We're 12 hours time difference, and I call maybe once a month. I really do love him. I'm just a boring person with not much to say. So is he
A guy I know locally asked if I know any electrical engineers. Um, yeah, my dad. So we'll probably call him tomorrow (sunday for us, still sat in the states).

I got my dad some car themed stuff for Father’s Day, dd’s dad/my xh gets zip, and I get J something something small usually baseball related (this year it’s a 6+4+3 = 2 shirt).
I ended up getting DH a Hop Passport. Basically it gets him 50% off of his first two beers at a bunch of different breweries in CO. He likes to try different beers so I thought he would probably like it!
