Does anyone know of a service to get HR questions answered, specifically for employee issues for small businesses?
DH hired someone to work at his small business (just the 2 of them), and it’s not working out at all. He has given him 15 months to get up to speed and start bringing in clients, but he can’t seem to manage the simplest tasks (note taking in meetings, tracking on projects, etc.). DH has had countless conversations with him, he always vows to do better, but DH catches him missing meetings or driving his kids around when he’s supposed to be taking notes in a meeting.
So he needs to let him go and find someone else. But I’m afraid he will sue. His wife seems… litigious. So I’m wondering if there is a service we could use to make sure the separation checks all boxes, or if we just need an attorney.

Insperity is an HR provider that I have heard of and seen people use. I've also heard of Bambee.
This varies drastically by state of course, and I'm in Texas where workers have nearly zero state rights so take this with a big grain of salt, but a lot of federal protections this guy could have, he won't have because he's the only employee. If that helps at all to know.
The biggest issue I would expect if you were in Texas would be an unemployment insurance claim.
