And, I'll reply. Donor eggs are being thawed today, and my H is giving a sample so that embryos will be created today. After letting them grow 5-7 days, they'll freeze them for PGS testing. That will take 2-3 weeks, then we'll do a transfer cycle.
We leave for our honeymoon (Carmel, San Francisco, South Lake Tahoe) on Friday night, so that will be our last hurrah before a transfer cycle. I can't believe we're getting close now to transfer!
Went in this morning for a laminaria Insert to open up my cervix for a second attempt at an HSG tomorrow. And that failed. They (a total of 4 docs) couldn’t get it to stay in. Fml
On a positive note, they were able to get the dilators in so we will attempt a second HSG tomorrow as planned since they theorize that they can get the dilator in long enough to do the procedure.
Assuming the HSG tomorrow is clear (RE thinks it’s fine based on other factors), we may be able to do our first IUI this cycle.

More to come!
Update - HSG is clear. On to IUI with Clomid on the next cycle.

My DW had her first follow-up with Derbala last week. You all know this weird place: we wanted him to find something to fix, but then it’s hard to take in that something’s wrong.
She has several blood clotting factors and high anti-ovarian antibodies. So Prednisone, Lovenox, Metformin, and a ton of vitamins and supplements for 30 days. Then repeat bloodwork to see how well it’s working, then hopefully transfer. We are trying so hard to be hopeful but having trouble getting there.

I got the official word on my HSG from my RE (prev result was preliminary from the RE who did the procedure) that my right tube is fine, left is blocked, but they don't see an issue with proceeding with our FET. My saline sono/mock transfer looked good. Now I just wait for my August cycle to get things going.

Well, day 6 on the embryos and so far none are able to be biopsied and frozen. Tomorrow is the last chance but at this point I sort of am hoping none work as I think we get a free set of 8 eggs if none make it.
Not sure though and won’t know more till our next regroup with our doctor.

I’m so sorry. What a difficult situation. I forget, does your partner have known sperm factor issues? Or do they think the donor (unproven if I’m remembering correctly?) is the issue? IVF is so damn fickle, even with donor gametes. I’ll be watching out for your updates.

Thank you. My husband doesn’t have any known issues. Both clinics we’ve been to said his sperm is great. Nothing apparent in the regular battery of testing.
We’ll find out more about whether the donor (yes, unproven) is the issue when we speak with the doctor. Hopefully we can get that scheduled quickly.

I hope you get more answers soon, and regardless so sorry you’re hitting this hurdle. ❤️

Thank you. We went with a donor to try to be efficient/faster due to my age and so this is disappointing to say the least.

Thanks, all. It’s official. None made it. We are waiting to hear if the bank will honor giving us 4 more. And waiting to hear about a priority appointment with the doctor sometime in the next 1-3 weeks. I’m frustrated we won’t get more information in the interim.

thedutchgirl I'm so sorry that you didn't get good news. I hope the Dr has more answers for you and you are able to get an appt quickly. I'm sure it's super frustrating waiting and not knowing.

By way of minor updates, we are confirmed to be getting 4 free eggs. I was able to speak to the egg bank manager, and she could see that another set of the eggs from the same donor hadn't yet been thawed, so no info from her on whether it is an egg issue.
We're still waiting for an appointment with the doctor, which is really frustrating to me at this point. I'm not particularly emotional about this, and I think it is cruel. I feel like some people might be utterly beside themselves at this point.
And, we have additional options for eggs because with some donors they may have less than the standard 8 eggs left. So we may be able to switch to a proven donor. Before we decide for sure, we want to talk with the doctor, though.
I’m so sorry thedutchgirl. Had my saline sono Monday, no ectopic but looked like a small amount of tissue retained causing my HCG to hang around. It has since dropped to 18 (from 34), will recheck next week and hopefully be at zero but we’re taking a few months before our last FET.
As a mid-month update, it looks like I am out this cycle. I’ve been spotting these past couple days. Im due for my period on Sunday. Ugh. I was really hoping we could do this without going into invasive treatments.
We decided to not do IUI this next cycle because I am set for my bi-annual brain scan and visit with my neuro-oncologist on Aug 13. I won’t be able to do my brain scan with contrast if/when I get pregnant. My mind will be more at ease if I have one last clear scan before we start IUIs. And I want to consult with her on her thoughts on using clomid or other anti-estrogens as some brain tumors are estrogen sensitive.
My medical history just adds an extra layer of complexity to IF treatments.
Finally have my hysteroscopy scheduled for August 5th. After that we'll have a post-op appointment to discuss doing the next transfer. September will be a year since my last transfer. I just hate how everything takes soooooo long in this process.
