Is it really possible for a woman who was in an very restrictive community to leave at forty something and rise to millions of dollars in 10ish years? I feel like something is missing out of this story.

I was thinking the same. She says she is 50, so in a matter of 8 years she has enough to have that home in NYC and a house in the Hamptons?

That article I posted above goes into more details about her life. The show is misleading IMO. She didn’t spend all her life in Monsey. Her parents brought her over from Soviet Russia and lived elsewhere before moving to Monsey in fourth grade. Then she lived in Israel and came back and married. Her ex-husband is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business and they also lived in Atlanta.
So I’m guessing she has some pretty hefty connections through his schooling.

She also started working secretly while still married. I mean, I agree, it is a pretty quick rise, but if you have the right connections, that makes a huge difference.
Oops. I thought you were referring to the series Unorthodox.
I thought so at first, too. I read Unorthodox years ago, long before netflix adapted it. I liked both show and book. They differed enough from each other that it didn't feel redundant.
I'm intrigued enough to watch this. I'll watch/read anything resembling cult or culty religion.

Speaking of culty religions, I see there's a new docuseries on Tony Alamo. I knew a few people that were involved in college, and there were regular pamphlets stuck on windshields. Nashville was one of the places where they had a church. Someone invited me once, but I barely knew him and had zero interest in anything church related, and I didn't even know anything about this guy and his ministry. It all just struck me as off.

I went down the Masterchef Australia rabbit hole. Season 1 and I love it more than the US version.
sMothered - I have to fast forward over the Hawaii women as I just cannot stand them. And I am starting to really dislike Cher and her Mom; those voices just grate all over my nerves. And her husband, I would be pissed too if my spouse went and did a "first" without me. Sunhe is going to drive Jason out of the picture and Angelica just needs to get in her head that Jason is the dad and he should be able to have time with his daughter. And if I were Laura Leigh, I would put my foot down about her mother in law's involvement and if Laura doesn't start to really include her wife, she's going to find herself divorced.
RHOP - I am not sure about Mia - I think I am just on the fence about her. Gizelle is my favorite and I think she needs to move on and find her a new man that is local and loves her. Juan needs to wake up and realize that Robin's dealing with depression. Karen, girl needs to go find a gag and put it into her mouth. UGH.

I adore Laura Leigh, and she doesn’t deserve the treatment her wife and MIL are giving her. I was pissed that Sunhe did skin to skin but they refused to let Jason. That’s some bullshit right there.

The only thing I agree with Sunhe on is that place is a nasty hoarder's den. It really is not fit for an infant. And his defiant little chin thrust when he had the gall to complain the child came early.
Laura Leigh needs to run fast in the other direction. She deserves someone who respects her.
I'm giving Sexy Beasts a try right now. It seems silly. Not sure if I'll go beyond the first episode. I mentioned it to my H and he just rolled his eyes so I'm watching solo.

I’ve been watching old seasons of Below Deck. Finished all of those and am now on Below Deck Med - season 2. I’m only on episode 2 and Capt Sandy is already annoying me.

I’m pretty sure I read that her husband owns the company she now runs and he’s the one with the huge bank account.

Keep watching because the show is fun, but she gets worse. She never really bothered me the first few seasons, but she gets really overbearing and micro-manage-y. She is constantly asking the guests how the food is in a way where she is fishing for a complaint. It's odd. And her obsession with table decor never ends.

Her new husband owns Elite? They’re both worth a ton of money, although he is significantly richer than she is.
I’m watching this while doing other work, but this show is so scripted. I know most reality tv is scripted, but this is painfully obvious on how scripted it is.

I wondered what he did so I looked it, this is from wiki:
‘Scaglia also founded Freedom Holding (formerly Pacific Global Management Group), a holding company that controls the Elite World Group.’

Family Karma: Brian was being a complete dick to Monica 2.0.
Also, clearly Richa’s mom can’t see she may be part of the problem when it comes to her kid’s relationship. Now, Richa’s sister could be in an abusive marriage (going by how described things) OR it could be that their mom was disrespectful to her son in law like she is with Visha but they set boundaries.

Apparently his networth is $1billion.
Ok the luck of transparency is really irritating me! Lol

Oooooh small world! I worked with some of the kids that got rescued from the cult. After they started working with us we would all get pamphlets on our car from the “church”. Assholes. I was very happy to hear when he died.
What’s the docuseries called?
I know the kids were working with an author about telling their story. I believe it’s called Whispering in the Daylight. I’ve been meaning to read it.
