What should I buy/do to help DD (4) from getting swimmer’s ear again? She had it last week and she was really hurting - the pediatrician prescribed ear drops.
Does your LO wear ear plugs in the pool - if so, what kind?
I tried everything as a kid - caps over my ears, wax in the ear, all the drops, etc. In the end, I was just vigilant about shaking my ears out after swimming. The wax worked, too, but I hated not being able to hear well.
I don't use it for my kids. But I swim laps 2-3 times a week. I got swimmer's ear like 5 years ago and started using Mack's Ear Drops after every swim. Never gotten it since.

My kids both just had it, and the dr. recommended using the OTC drying drops any time they felt like they had even a tiny bit of water trapped in their ears.
Ditto the drying drops and wax ear plugs. After having 3 surgeries on my eardrum this past spring, I have to wear the wax ear plugs and use antibiotic drops anytime I'm in water that is not my shower. For the foreseeable future.

I got it frequently as a kid. And once in my thirties. I use hydrogen peroxide in my ear after swimming. Tilt head dump a cap full in. Listen for popping. Turn head let run out. Don't use good towels. Will bleach.

I use the drops on myself. The last few years I started getting swimmers ear a few times per summer. The ear plugs work great but I hate not being able to hear. The otc drops work pretty well for me.
