I was wondering if there's a big internet problem right now? Several sites I've tried to use aren't working, and if you look at Down Detector, it looks like a lot of sites just went offline...
They are a content distribution network and have a ton of servers in a ton of places.
That said, I take DownDetector data with a grain of salt. It's crowd-sourced, as opposed to having a direct line to any actual data from networks -- I think it relies a lot of picking up complaints via social media feeds, and it may or may not accurately reflect whether a network is actually down or that there's another reason people are having service issues. I've had experiences in the past where it looks like a bunch of telecom networks are down, called those providers for service updates and they're like "Huh? What? Our systems don't show any outages?" and it turns out to be another link in the chain, so to speak -- like a CDN provider or DNS or something else.
