Just for fun...
If you could go on any tv game-show (even if it's not currently on the air), what would you pick and why?
Up until a few years ago, I would have definitely picked The Price is Right because I felt like because I both watched it almost daily and was an avid couponer, I had a really good shot at doing well on guessing prices of the type of objects they had on there pretty closely. But I haven't watched in years now, and I no longer coupon or pay close attention to prices.
I think I'd like to be on a trivia game like Mental Samurai, but Wheel of Fortune is probably a better fit lol. But my final pick would be something that is almost totally luck, as in Press Your Luck. No Whammys!
I know I would NOT do well on something that involves physical challenges under pressure like Wipe Out or even Minute to Win It even though it looks like being on them would be much more fun!

Game show - wheel of fortune. Fun fact, I tried out once and made it past the first round but a work obligation kept me from going to the 2nd try out. I’m still sad.
I listen to a podcast called Good Job, Brain which is a trivia type show. They did a bonus episode recently where they had guests talking about being on game shows - how to get chosen, how to prepare, what happens back stage. It was really interesting
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
Match game with Richard Dawson, Bret Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Fanny Flagg, Marcia Wallace and Gary Burghoff on the panel.
Gene Rayburn as host, of course.
Sooo much innuendo!
Love reruns of that show. Lots of drinking in that green room. I may be misremembering, but iirc one time Richard took his marker and connected the dots on Ray's very loud polyester pantsuit.

In my pretend world it would Jeopardy. I'm don't know near enough trivia to actually go well on it though, so I will never attempt it.
But in a more real world scenario it would be wheel of fortune. I am actually good at it. I grew up watching it with my grandmother so it's also sentimental to me.

Game show: Press Your Luck, all day. It's the best (for fun/luck) game show to have ever been on TV, although I don't like the host on the reboot (Elizabeth Banks, I think?). I'd love to be on Jeopardy too, but I'm not smart enough/don't know enough random things. Wheel of Fortune looks fun too, but Pat Sajak is annoying.
Reality show: Survivor, although I'd probably die out there, lol.
Family Feud. I am a master at finding the top answers.
Helen's Games of Games looks fun too but I am not the kind of contestant they are looking for. They want energetic crazy people (you have to send a video to audition) and it's not me.
Remote Control on MTV, I would CLEAN. UP. on that. Except I wasn't that good at identifying music videos. One of DH's friends was on it and won a bunch of stuff.
ETA: or Beat the Geeks, which was a similar premise. That was much more recent but didn't last long.
We watch TPIR sometimes, so definitely that. We discuss TPIR psychology and know some game tricks (you can almost always win Cliff Hanger using $20, $35, $50).
I enjoyed Amazing Race when it started, but I would need to learn to drive stick and I would have to do all the eating challenges (DH has a sensitive stomach). I also do not think we do well in stressful joint tasks.
We watch Jeopardy every night, so we know we are not good enough but we know exactly what we would need to study (Shakespeare, the Bible, Canada). We joke that the science, sports, and math questions are easy (to us).
I'd like to practice $x pyramid and Secret Word. I think it would be good mental gymnastics.
Lingo! I forgot about it... cool show, and right up my alley.
I was on a local TV game show for teenagers a few times.
I made it pretty far in the Jeopardy process after college but I didn’t have the money to travel to the final interviews. So probably Jeopardy or something else trivia related.
Years ago I would have said Name That Tune, but I am not as well versed on more current songs. The music that I do know, I can often name in one note, or if the clue is good enough, zero. It drives DH nuts. lol
