Help me decide. I am planning for an early April trip. 6 nights. 2 adults and three kids, 12,7,2. Dh is lobbying for offsite for more space by renting a vrbo. I am lobbying for the boardwalk DVC studio but I also see the draws of off site. We stayed offsite in 2014 and then on-site in 2017 and 2019. Being onsite is so convenient but with three kids a tiny studio is going to get cramped. We aren’t stay all day in the park people and like to take a midday break.
If you stayed on-site, could the 12 and 7 year old be trusted to hang out in the hotel and explore around it so the room isn't so cramped when you're there?

I guess if you’ve done it recently you know what you’re getting yourself in to but I felt cramped in our studio with a 2 and 15 month old so I can’t imagine doing it with another person and bigger kids.
Decision is made. Just booked a totally amazing 4 bedroom house in Windsor hills. The price is $250 a night and it looks awesome. Game room, private pool, community pool and slide.

I’ve looked at those houses in case I ever go back with a larger family group. Please give a review when you’re back!

I absolutely will! After really thinking about us and how we spend our days I think the extra space will be wonderful!
