I finished Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead. I thought it was really good. I think I have charlatti to thank for the recommendation! 🙂
QOTW: Most of my reading for fun for me is done on the weekends (especially now) or in the car if we go somewhere. I’m also trying to read with my kids/nephew on FaceTime at night, though we’re on a little break from that right now because we’re watching the Olympics.
minzy, glad you enjoyed it! I really loved that one.
I'm still reading my bird migration nonfiction book, A World on the Wing. Just finished That Summer by Jennifer Weiner, which I liked, and probably will start Hour of the Witch. Chris Bohjalian is hit or miss for me, so we'll see.
QOTW: Usually evenings -- vegging on the couch and then in bed for a bit. In the summer I usually get some afternoon reading time in also.
I finished The Therapist earlier this week. My first two star rating of the year. I started and stopped a couple of other books and now I’m giving Dial A for Aunties a go.
QOTW: Usually during my daughter’s afternoon nap. I used to also read a lot right before bed but I’ve been passing out lately.

I'm still chipping away at "The Night Swim" and hope to finish this weekend.
QOTW: Mostly at night if I can focus. Lately I've been trying to read before bed. I also got a tip from this board a couple of years ago to always have an e-book going, then I can read waiting in the car, in line etc. It helped get a few more pages in.
The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix (not good)
That Weekend by Kara Thomas (I always enjoy her books but this wasn’t my favorite)
The Last Guest by Tess Little (I don’t even remember what this was about)
Catherine House by Elizabeth Thomas (way too long)
QOTW:
I mainly read in bed at night unless it is a nice day and I have time to read in the hammock. I don’t read a ton during the day unless it’s a physical library book. I stopped reading them in bed after a Cheeto fell out of one. No thank you!
I finished The Other Black Girl yesterday. I wanted to like it more than I did. The pacing felt off and the overall premise was promising but not well executed. It also made the mistake of dragging things out for a surprising "twist" ending which generally annoys me. I originally gave it 4 stars but went back and changed it to 3.
I read in the evenings, usually if DH is watching something I don't care about or have seen a 100 times. When the weather is good I read outside at the end of the day but it's been tooo hot plus being in the office again means I get off later.

I'm so sad to hear that about The Therapist. I'm glad I'm on the wait list and didn't buy it though. lol

Yeah, I was disappointed. I had been looking forward to it too. Still worth giving it a try if you're a B.A. Paris fan.

Currently reading A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult.
I do most of my reading before bed. Sometimes in the car or random times on weekends. For audio books, I listen in the car 99% of the time. Occasionally while working out, but I prefer music for the gym!
I went back to reading A Single Swallow. I had paused it because I had other things that had deadlines/return dates. I’m also reading the Office of Historical Corrections. I really struggle with short story collections, and I was camping this weekend and wanted to power through some reading, but you can’t easily read short stories back to back.
QOTW: I usually read at night before bed, unless I’m in an exciting part of the book or wanting to finish, then I read at every opportunity. I also like to read a lot on vacations, and plan on 2 or more books most of the time.
Finished: Isn’t It Bromantic, Book 4, 3 stars Disappointed Vlad’s sorry wasn’t given a better story. It was awkward and one sided to me. The twist at the end was just weird.
5 Rounds, 4.5 stars Enemies to lovers that was good, a smidge too much inner dialogue for me.
Current: The Match - it’s cute, but I’m waiting for the shoe to drop. Not earth shattering at all.
QOTW: I read before bed or the weekends. I probably read the most on the weekends.
