I have been divorced since 2017. My XH has a Lowe's store card, which I am apparently still on. I've received 2 credit alerts about this card recently. XH says he has contacted Lowes twice and they swear I am off the card. He's trying again, but I don't really trust him to follow through. He has always been financially responsible so I trust that he will pay off any charges each month, but that's not the point. Any idea how I get myself off of this card? Since XH is the primary account holder, I've been assuming he has to be involved.

Have you contacted the cc company yourself? What did they say?
My husband was able to pull himself off 2 cards where one of his parents had him as an authorized user just by calling the customer service for the card and saying he wanted to be removed. Maybe you could try reaching out and requesting removal explaining that you're legally divorced?
UPDATE... shockingly, XH actually followed up. At the bank's request, I have issued a dispute with the credit bureaus over the ownership of the card. I didn't know that was an option.
I don't have a physical card anymore (I'm sure I shredded it years ago), so I don't even know who to call to try and take myself off the account. This has been part of the problem.
Glad that it sounds like you're making progress! My husband had never authorized or been told his (estranged) parent had added him to the card and only discovered on a random pull of his credit report. I don't know if this is true in all instances but the accounts were listed on the report along with contact information for each entity so that's what he used to call and make the request. Fingers crossed your action resolves the whole thing without need for further escalation though!

you could probably Google the CS number and give them your name and maybe some other verifying info (like your phone number or SSN). The credit bureau thing sounds funny, unless they are saying they already took you off the card and the credit bureaus are just reporting incorrectly? The credit bureau doesn't have anything to do with the actual account...
