Sorry to disappoint, but excavation is not happening this weekend. Cleaning lady’s husband got a last minute job (construction) and pushed off to next weekend. I’ll keep you all posted!

I didn’t want to give a bummer update, but cleaning lady’s husband was unable to excavate Mary She has been cemented in there for decades and he was very concerned he would break her if he kept trying. We’re compiling quotes for a covered front porch and it appears Mary will live out here days under it, as I feel icky about bulldozing her (luckily we have the clearance, there are 8 steps up to our front door).

Oh man that is disappointing.  I was really hoping she would find a home where she was loved.  I'm sorry you're stuck with here but I agree that bulldozing her might not be the best karma.   Not that I would begrudge you if you did, but I don't think I could have either.  It's kind of you to respect her importance to others.

I have googled, but I am guessing that winecat and I aren't the only ones who were curious about which version your housecleaner loves so much, and just googling wouldn't actually help with that.

To be honest, if you had linked to the version when winecat asked before, I would have 'let it go'.

Yeah, it is kind of a weird response...I guess I was feeling defensive or something. And I did mean to add an lol or some kind of emoticon, to keep it lighter, but I couldn't decide what and forgot to add something before I posted.

There were Bathtub Marys all over my neighborhood.  I was curious about what made one so special that your cleaning person and her husband would go to such effort to have it.  I'm just bored so my curiosity was unreasonably piqued.

I drove by what was clearly an actual *bathtub* Mary recently and was almost giddy about it thinking of this post

There's a house in my neighborhood with a bath tub that is sawed in half in their driveway right now. I'm guessing they're doing a bathroom reno and it was easier to remove the old tub by cutting it I guess two... But every time I see it, I think of this thread.
