Help with Disneyland dining

I got up in the middle of the night to make dining reservations and the Blue Bayou never came available at the 60-day mark. Anyone know what’s going on with trying to reserve it?

Like you couldn’t even see to make reservations or it showed it but showed no availability?

Every single restaurant shows no times - even right at the window when it all should have opened for availability.

Hmm that is super weird. I could see maybe Blue Bayou not showing availability right at the open window time but not everything being unavailable. On my agent work board I haven’t heard of a glitch though. I would probably brave the phone line and see if you can schedule over the phone or if they can see availability on their end.

Ok thanks. I’ll try giving them a call. I will let you know in 85 hours when they answer what I find out.

Only took 45 minutes but she said it’s correct that nothing has any availability. It’s honestly making me rethink our trip.

And to clarify - I’m worried about the trip being a crowded cluster-f with two kids too young to be vaccinated and feel like the dining reservations are a sign.

They’ve been opening up dining sporadically since they re-opened. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just not available to anyone yet - not that it’s already reserved. Were they able to tell the difference on the Disney side when you called?

When we went in June it seemed like places were updating their availability often.

On my Disney AP pages, it seems like everyone is having issues with availability, but that reservations are popping up randomly. My guess is that they’re not fully booking, just in case indoor dining restrictions go active again. I would keep checking back, especially once you are within a month.

Right but because they are booked or because they simply aren’t available yet. That’s what I mean. I don’t think disneyland is back to the before times of having restaurants reservations opening up 60 days out.

That every single restaurant in both parks is magically full immediately at midnight at the 60 day mark to me says that it’s just not open yet. Not that they were all snapped up that quickly.

That’s actually kind of what I said to her as well because it seemed crazy that by 9am pacific time there wasn’t one spot anywhere in either park. I don’t think she understood or didn’t have any more info than the fact that nothing was showing at that time.

We waited until the last minute to make dining reservations, which wasn’t smart, but we’ve been able to make a lot of reservations in the past week by checking the app a few times a day. I haven’t tried Blue Bayou, but we had lunch at Cafe Orleans today. I would keep checking, especially as the dates get closer.

As far as crowds, I would say they’re typical. It’s not less crowded than normal. They require masks indoors, and 90% of people are good about wearing them. Cast members give reminders. Masks aren’t required outdoors, including while waiting in lines. However, restaurants don’t seem to be operating at full capacity. Only about half of the tables have been occupied.

I just made a dining reservation for tomorrow night, so things definitely open up as people cancel and make changes. I’m sitting at lunch right now, and only half of the tables are occupied, even though the reservation system says there’s no availability. I don’t know if it’s a Covid distance thing or a staffing issue. Tables are at least 6 feet apart, and half are empty (and I’m outside).
