Anyone have a nugget? Is it worth the price? Any alternatives out there?
I'm trying to find more ways to engage my kid, but she's also still sharing her playroom with DH as he continues WFH. For the future, he will stay downstairs because of our senior dog and not making her go up/down.
I'm not sure if I'm going to regret the size of the nugget. Maybe just one of those old school flip chairs instead? She has 2 floor poofs, but they're not the greatest.
We got this one for our son (he just turned 7). The slip covers are washable and seem very durable. The red is a nice color. This style is available in a few sizes from different manufacturers. We paid $279 this time last year.
We have a nugget! It’s a great option for our almost three year old who loves to climb on all the things. We keep it in the guest room when not in use. If space is a constraint, definitely think about where you will keep it while not in use.

We got a Nugget in late spring and have been happy with it. I was looking for something to sit on in our playroom space so it ended up being dual purpose. It doesn't see as much action in the summer but I'm anticipating it will a lot in the winter. In the spring, we were doing a ton of slides, forts, and just jumping onto it.

I bought the smaller version of this couch in the early pandemic days for my then 2 and 6 year olds. It is durable and easily washable. I’ve washed it at least 4 times. The now 3 year old uses it more than his big sister.

I have 2 nuggets and am a huge fan! I think they do take up a lot of space though so if space is an issue it might not be the best thing. I also felt one was kind of hard as it was hard to "build" things with just one. There are bunch of alternatives, but none are really cheaper options. Some alternatives are Foamnasium Blocksy (this is a vinyl cover, not machine washable), Figgy, Fort, Sam's Club explorer sofa, and also the Jaxx Zipline mentioned above.
We have a cushy couch (which is the Canadian version of the nugget), we live in a small city semi detached, it does take up a good chunk of our living room or playroom depending where we have it but the kids love it.

I bought one about a year ago, and my then 4 (now 5) year old barely touches it. It's kind of a shame. I was thinking she would get a lot of use out of it, but it just isn't her thing. I should probably just sell it.
Sam's Club is now selling a Nugget-like couch called the Explorer Sofa for $180. I'm not sure of the quality, but it seems to have good reviews.
I dont have one, but I've done a ton of research because I'm ways debating it.
People love their nuggets. Kozy Couch is also often recommended as a good alternative.
I've heard the one from sam's club isn't good because it's not stiff. The other two you can make a triangle that kids can climb, but the sam's club one collapses.
We’ve had a nugget for a few years and my kids are now 10 & 6 & 2 and they use it daily. They make forts, obstacle courses, lounge and wrestle on them.
Thanks for this post. I have thought about the nugget for so long because DD (9.5) still likes to built forts and is constantly asking to take apart our sectional couch. But I worry that fad will die any second so the nugget was giving me pause for the price. Kozy couch seems much more reasonable.
Am I reading it right that the Kozy Couch is less pieces? So it's less, but only has 1 folding section and 1 triangle?
The nugget is 2 folding sections and 2 rectangles. So the Kozy is 1/2 as many pieces.
Kozy
Nugget
Yes, but buying 2 is less than the price of 1 nugget and you don’t have to wait for it to ship. Free shipping also and received it in 3 days. I had a coupon code too, so you might google for one. I read a review from someone with a nugget and Kozy couch and they liked the Kozy couch better. It was milestones and motherhood on Instagram but I can’t find her saved story for it. I think she specifically liked the triangle pieces better and maybe one of the big cushions is thicker?

Just checked the prices and the Kozy will only be cheaper if you find a coupon code.
We have two! H thought I was crazy when I ordered the first one when his name won the "lotto" last year. Then it arrived, and the kids played on it for hours. An hour after it arrived he okay'd spending the money to get a second lol. My kids use it every day (morning and night) and my kiddos physical therapist incorporates it into therapy sessions. They're currently 2.5, 2.5 and 4.5.

We have 2 nuggets. My kids are now almost 8 and almost 12 and still use them for forts, set up as games/obstacle courses and more. They are great for sleepovers too.

We have the Foamnasium Blocksy and love it! I chose it over the Nugget because of the fabric (it has the same vinyl we put in commercial preschool rooms for it's durability/ability to clean + doesn't attract pet hair).
I don't think it's any cheaper but it was much easier to get in a timely manner. They have additional pieces you can buy to add to it that we'll ask for at Christmas/birthday.
