I need something compact and cordless for quick cleanups of our bathroom floor. We do have a dog, but she's short hair and that's not the primary reason for this need. It'll be used on tile and maybe an area rug now and then. I feel like reviews are alllllll over the place. I just want something that will last 10-15 minutes on a charge and I don't have to replace every 2-3 years.
I'm pretty sure the battery on any cordless vacuum will start to decline by 2-3 years. At a minimum you'll probably need to get a new battery by then. Dyson sells replacement batteries for their vacuums. Other brands probably do too.
We had an older Dyson that needed both a new battery and a new roller head, plus even with a new battery the run time wasn't that long, so we decided to buy a new vacuum all together. This time we got a Dyson that had a longer run time and a better roller head so that when the battery starts dying, it'll hopefully be worth it to just replace the battery. I love our current Dyson. It has separate heads for hardwood and carpet which makes a big difference. It's kind of annoying to have to switch out the attachment for carpet/hardwood, but it works so much better I don't mind. Our old one just had a single head that could be used on both carpet and hardwoods, and it didn't do well on hardwoods at all. It left lots of stuff behind.

I LOVE my dyson hand held. I use it more than any other vacuum I've ever owned to go around vacuuming up the drifts of dog hair from my 2, to do the furniture, the stairs, etc. I use it every day. I think I've only had it for about 2 years, but it's still going strong. I only break out my big vacuum to do the area rugs every once in a while (usually before company is coming).
I really love our Dyson stick vac. We’ve had it for probably 4 years and replaced the battery once. We do have to clean out the filter regularly and wipe down the inside. It’s great for small/quick cleanups but might not be great for a whole house.
The Shark is supposed to be good as well, at a similar price point.

I need one also! My mom had gotten me a Dibea from Amazon a few years ago and it was good while it lasted, but like others have said it was done in 2 years. I just want like an old fashioned "dust buster."

Right?! I swear my mom's Dustbuster lasted like 20 years, lol.
I don't want a stick vac because I want this to be fast and quick for stray hair cleanup. We have a vacuum on each floor for bigger things... this is truly just for our bathroom floor.
For those with a Shark, which model do you have and love?
We have two Shark vacuums and I like both so was leaning towards a Shark. But was torn on which model. Especially between the Wandvac and something like the UltraCyclone.
I've been pretty happy with the Black & Decker dustbuster. We mostly use it for cat litter, but also snack waste etc. We've had it for 5 years, all you have to do is clean it and change the filter once in a while. We don't use it _that_ often though.

We have had a Shark stick vac for the last 2 years and it’s been great. Battery still hold a charge. Sorry I have no idea what model, I don’t see it in their website.
We had a dyson before that and the battery life was terrible.
It was a balancing act between price ($60 vs a lot of the $100-300 options), compact but not TOO compact, charge time vs run time, etc. It came yesterday and so far it's perfect. Takes me a couple minutes to get our bathroom floor and it got it all with no issue. Then I did my stairs and that was pretty good. Not as good as my stick vacuum, but a lot more manageable. Will come back with updates as I remember, especially about longevity!
