Audible credits question

I signed up for Audible a few months ago with the intention of cashing in the free credits for joining, and then cancelling.  As is typical for me, I forgot to cancel it, and now have 8 credits earned in the months that I've been paying for an audible subscription I don't need.

My question is - if I cancel my subscription now, do I still get to keep those 8 credits as long as I want, or do I need to use them up before I cancel?

From my understanding you keep the credits. But I would check the site to make sure. It's been a long time since I have had audible.
