We have a great opportunity to pick up a seat in a swing district and relieve the other side of their current super majority. I have many like minded friends in my district, but this opportunity is in another district. A couple of us are thinking about doing a small fundraiser for the candidate, hoping our friends will see the big picture, especially since our district is safely to our side.
Would you give some financial support to a candidate outside your own district, i.e. you would not be a constituent of that person if elected, if you knew it could help your party in other ways?
Yep. In fact, I'm doing it now. I'd much rather have some sort of balance to impact the entire area rather than focusing on my district where that type of push behind wouldn't help.

I totally would. In fact, if a certain crazy woman in my parents' district runs again, I'll contribute to whomever is her opponent. Also to the opponent of the person who likened food stamp recipients to wild animals.

Thanks for the confirmation. I figured this would be the case, but wanted a couple of affirmatives before I invite 80+ people to an event they could potentially have little interest in.
Yep - I've given quite a bit to Elizabeth Warren, and I definitely live in VA.
Ha! Me too. In fact, I've contributed more to her campaign than any local candidates to date. You can take the girl out of MA, but you can't take the Masshole out of the girl.
