Looks like we're moving on w/the second phase of our renovation plans - yay! Broad scope includes:
Gutting master bath (moving wall 2 feet to create 10x10 bathroom) french doors in office/lighting and fans in master bedroom. Opening the old master closet up/fixing laundry duct work. Removing old plumbing stack wall and HVAC in the kitchen.
I'll be sure to post before pics! It touches a lot of small spaces in our house. I have a million things to figure out.
First decision, I need to order a new window for our master bath. The current window is one of those standard bathroom windows, ~30"x 41" - ETA: after clicking around the internet, I think I'm going to do the longer window (e.g., 48" wide x 51" tall).
I want to put a big window in that's centered on the bathtub (likely going to be a built in jaccuzi). All the pretty pics of tubs in front of windows show tall windows that go just above the height of the tub (tub height is usually ~20") windows. However, the windows on the 2nd floor/back of my house are all 41" high....so will it look bad/weird to have one window that's out of proportion w/the others? Would it look worse to have the window so much higher than the tub? I could ask the contractor to build a slightly higher tub deck...but it'll still be a big disparity. I might put shutters on the windows too.
Here's a rough drawing of the future space (you can see the wall we're moving and claiming space from the office). The drawings of the two spaces are not contiguous - sorry! (the windows in both rooms are next to each other on the back of the house - so imagine dragging the office drawing to the left of the bathroom, that's where it's actually located).

On the back of our house the windows are all the same height but because of the strange placement it still looks super wonky. Go with the window size you want.
