Xavier has a soccer tournament today. I have mixed feelings about it, since we're still a covid hotspot. I'm hoping that it works out ok, we're just going to the game and leaving, no socializing like we used to. Which is fine b/c this is a new team and I don't know the parents. Xavier doesn't really even like the team too much, it's way too serious, but at the time it was our only outdoor option that was somewhat local. Of course two months after we signed up for the TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR A MONTH SOCCER stuff, we found he could have done middle school soccer. which is much more laid back Oh well. Next year.
(It's also kind of a weird team, they hardly play any games and have 2 practices a week and sometimes on Saturday. It's not at all what I thought it was or what I was told it would be, so I'm disappointed about the cost. Xavier's on the "B squad" and all the attention is given to the kids on the "A squad", even though we spend the same amount of money. It's just poorly run which surprises me b/c we've known the coach for 6 years and like him. Oh well. Nothing I can do at this point but suck it up and chalk it up to a learning lesson. )

OH and I got Franklin's sensitivity report back, since I can't seem to find a food that can help calm his skin "allergies". Well, he's sensitive TO SERIOUSLY EVERY DOG FOOD THAT IS ON THIS PLANET. I'm not even being hyperbolic. There is not a single dog food that doesn't contain at least 5 things on his "HE SHOULD NEVER CONSUME THIS EVER" list. Even those "limited diet" foods, which is bullshit b/c they still have ingredients lists with 25 items, mostly synthetic vitamins.
This dog, I swear to god. I'm GOING TO HAVE TO COOK FOR HIM.

COOK FOR A FREAKING DOG.
lol.
I cook for my dog. PM me if you want any advice.
Thank you! I’m mainly worried about him getting all the vitamins he needs bc he’s reactive to anything synthetic and a whole host of meats.
chicken is ok, but not beef. Kangaroo is bad but alligator is just fine. Lolz. Oh and he his HIGHLY reactive to salmon oil which I’ve been using for two years to help his coat, on the advice of his vet. 🤦🏻♀️

I had big plans to go to IKEA today because I saw on the app last week that a bookcase I’ve been stalking was back in stock. Of course, I check again this morning and *poof* it’s now showing as out of stock. I’ll crossing my fingers that they’re inventory numbers aren’t that accurate and that there’s at least one, somewhere in the building.
I haven’t been sewing much lately and it makes me kinda sad. I need to get a little inspiration/motivation going. I always feel so good when I’m mid-creation. Just need to get over that hump.
Leeham, what did you use to test him? Pippin also has super sensitive skin and I need to get him under control too. We’re currently using a salmon based sensitive skin food, which isn’t as bad as the others we’ve used. But he’s clearly still having a reaction. Thanks and good luck to you!!
Question for you…are there any GREAT playgrounds in the Orlando area?
We are going to be there tomorrow with reservations we booked before it became a hotspot hoping we’d be comfortable doing the Orlando Science Center and possibly volcano bay. Sadly we no longer feel comfortable so my H is going to drive a little farther snd take the kids mountain biking in Ocala one day and I want something sun and safe-ish my littler guy will enjoy.
After a hellacious week at work, I’m up bright and early on a Saturday, organizing my kitchen pantry. It’s a closet style, and the shelves are deep, but not deep enough to invest in pull outs. Things just get shoved to the back and lost. (Exhibit A, the 4 open bags of pita chips with expiration dates as far back as 3/20)
I think we need two separate kitchens in this house. DH has a foodie hobby and is always mid-project (lots of social media) and receiving products to test. We have so many samples of things! I need a kitchen just for family use.
DS & DH are going on an adventure today, so once I finish this, or at least get to a reasonable stopping point, it’s just me, Bravo, and some snacks for the rest of the day!
Today is full of a bunch of errands. Dropped DH's car off to get detailed, buying birthday gifts, getting some mums for the yard, cleaning.
Tomorrow my parents are visiting and it's my mom's birthday on Monday. I ordered a huge yard banner off Amazon that says "Happy birthday" and I'm putting it in our yard for when they arrive. She's gonna kill me lol.

Let's see, close to us (we are downtown-ish which is a bit of a hike from the attractions) There's Lake Eola Park,512 E Washington St, Orlando, FL 32801, which is pretty popular due to the lake/swans. the actual playground is a bit small, but we like to go there to change it up.
There's Capehart Park, which is shaded and has a splash pad, 715 Capehart Dr, Orlando, FL 32822. We've been to birthday parties here so it can get crowded, but if you go during school hours, you'll have the place to yourself.
If you like to fish, then Blanchard Park, 2451 Dean Rd, Union Park, FL 32817, is a good place to go to fish and also have a playground.
Further away from us is Friendship Park in Oviedo, 200 W Broadway St, Oviedo, FL 32765 which is FREAKING AWESOME. It has two separate playgrounds for big and little kids. The little kid one is quite small, though. Downtown Oviedo is also fucking awesome, they have free roaming chickens and roosters.
There's a super cool park in Deland, but that's like 45 minutes from where we are, Freedom Playground 230 N Stone St, DeLand, FL 32720. It's my absolute FAVORITE PARK but again, it's Far AF.
Let me know if these weren't exactly what you were looking for. There are lots of different types of parks, playgrounds, splashpads, etc.

I know that TECHNICALLY the best way to figure out a dog's ALLERGIES is to do the elimination diet under a vet's care, but ours wouldn't do it without $2k worth of blood work and skin scrapings.
I will say that I really do believe this is pretty accurate b/c right after I removed Salmon Oil, which he's highly reactive (not allergic, they won't say that. They just say 'reactive'), his poop changed to where I could actually pick it up. His skin is getting a little better after making some changes, but I haven't been able to eliminate all the allergens. They have 3 levels, Level 3 is stuff you should remove immediately for the elimination trial, Level 2 is recommended to remove immediately for your elimination trial and Level 1 is the lowest reaction, so it's not as important to remove those.

It’s going to be really nice out today so I’m taking DS for a picnic in the park.
My upper back has been killing me lately. Any stretches you recommend?
These are going to be hard to explain lol but I like doing a forward fold and cross your arms over your head and hold the opposite elbow and kind of hang & twist slightly side to side. And then arms hanging down and as you slightly twist to the right pull your left arm up kind of like you’re pretending it’s an elephant trunk? And then do the other side.

My son saw me looking at a dog picture on my phone and now I’m trapped looking at dog pictures while my son chatters about, “Puppies! Puppy woof woof!”
As a way to encourage him to talk more, we’ve been trying to fulfill his requests (within reason) so he gets that we are listening, understand him, and want him to use his words. He tossed out a, “Mommy, want cookie. Cookie? Cookie and milk?” Hmmm…this seems like a reasonable request at 10am…
DH and I had a really great evening at a baseball game (so weird to be in a place with that many people) and then a truly amazing night's sleep in a hotel room. Now he's off to NOLA, the kids just left for an overnight with my parents on their boat, and I'm taking an hour to chill before I get going on chores/workout/errands.
Gonna get take out sushi for dinner, watch a cheesy movie, and go to bed early.
My neighbor is taking me out to lunch today for a late birthday treat. Then I’m debating putting in some OT today or waiting and doing it all tomorrow when it’s supposed to rain. It should be about 8 hours worth so splitting it up would be nice though.

Did anyone watch 20/20 last night? It was on Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker. Holy excess! I was a kid in the 80s when all this went on, but remember bits and pieces. Normally in the AM before school my older brother and I watched The Bozo Show (GRAND Prize Game At Home Player in 1983!), but occasionally we would turn it to PTL to snark their terrible skits. I did want to go to Heritage USA though! My memory was that Jim had had an affair with Jessica Hawn and she was made out to be a slut. That is not what happened at all. I didn't even know there was another man involved, who actually orchestrated it. Jim and his show and ministry need canceled. So disgusting. I had relatives in the south who gave him money, many are no longer living. I wonder if they would have still donated if they knew.

Have you seen the documentary The Eyes of Tammy Faye? It’s being made into a (scripted) movie that’s coming out soon and is interesting.
The You’re Wrong About podcast has a good ep about Jessica Hahn too.

tacokick I saw where Andrew Garfield and Jessica Chastain were doing a movie, but didn't know it was based on any previous work. I will check that out and the podcast too. So typical of the religious groups and news to spin it against Jessica Hahn who was a very young adult at the time.
Our older dog has been doing some gagging/coughing and was due for her annual vet visit so we took her in and it turns out it was just mild allergies. What a relief! I had gone down the WebMd rabbit hole equivalent for dogs and was very worried it would be something with her lungs as she had also yelped when my husband picked her up the other day. Apparently just allergies combined with being achy from slight arthritis which is way better than anything else.

It’s a great documentary! I saw in the theaters when it came out and a few times since.
If the Jessica Hahn thing happened today, I bet they would do the exact same thing. Times have not changed as much as we’d hoped!

I cook for my dog. A crock pot will make it so much easier. You can use this website to enter the foods he can eat and it will calculate the amount to feed him plus a supplement to buy that gives him the vitamins he needs. secure.balanceit.com/ez/index.php?rotator=NewEz
Lol I just got back from the egg with Donny. He has little bumps in between his toes on BOTH front paws that he’s been licking at. Each is something different and requires different treatment, one of which might end up being surgical 🤦🏻♀️ He’s a year old! Fix it, Jesus.
