For certain things I’ve been successful at subbing from regular milk to almond milk. I recognize that almond milk has its own set of issues, but have read that oat milk is a good alternative.
So, I’d like to try oat milk; however, there are so many options it’s kind of hard to know where to start. Anyone have any recommendations or willing to share their favorites? Or something else I should try?

I like oatally, but I don’t just drink a glass of it. It always put in something, coffee, cereal, cooking (just don’t get the flavored if you’re cooking with it) etc.
I honestly can’t tell a huge difference between this and regular milk. It’s very creamy, which I like. (I dislike nut “milk” a so so so so much, so that likely colors my response)
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
Elmhurst makes the best plant based milks. No fillers, good ingredients. They are local to me, but sold nationwide I believe. They have barista edition coffee creamers that are awesome and foam up nice.
I haven’t had an oat milk I dislike yet. I have tried Chobani, Oatly, and some others. The shelf life on the Chobani was impressive and it’s widely available on sale, so it tends to be my go-to.
We usually drink soy or Ripple pea protein milk, though. These are often overlooked because “too much soy!!!!” but they are nutritionally superior to oat and the taste and texture is good.

We have been strictly oat milk for over three years. Have tried lots of different brands, but had been mainly dependent on what my son likes (he couldn’t handle milk as a baby and went to oat) and what I like in coffee.
Chobani is our favorite - organic, price is better than oatly, really creamy, tastes great in coffee
Oatly is number 2- just not as creamy as Chobani, but still really good and although not organic, it’s certified (roundup- whatever the chemical is) free
We avoid the ones with lots of extra ingredients and not organic, wegmans brand, planet oat…
Haven’t tried elmhurst or some of the more expensive brands mainly because we go through so much of it.
We only have Chobani unsweetened vanilla oat milk in our house. I don't actually drink it. I put some in tea or the boys' cereal and H's coffee. Its the only one I like and we have tried many non dairy milks since we don't drink dairy milk.
LOL I'm usually just a regular dairy girl, but I literally just bought oat milk to try yesterday. I tend to like the "other" milks, but since I don't have much trouble with milk as long as I don't drink a ton of it, I usually stick with dairy.
Anyway, I got Planet Oat vanilla, and I really like it. I find the color of all these milks to be a little off-putting, but it's very creamy and tastes good. I just tried it for fun b/c it was on sale; didn't even compare ingredients or anything.
Earth’s Own unsweetened original oat milk. They also have a cafe edition and a culinary edition that are each thicker. I LOVE the culinary edition for cooking. It’s the best replacement for heavy cream. I had mostly given up on making things like Alfredo sauce because of the consistency and flavour of faux milks, but the oat cream is fantastic.
(Caveat that I’m in Canada and I have no idea of this brand is available in the US. There are a lot of regulations so not everything is sold in both countries.)
Follow up question - are any of the brands recommended here certified gluten free? I currently do Almond Milk but have been looking for alternatives but am worried about gluten cross contamination with the Oat Milks.

Oatly Oak Milk is supposedly certified GF.
Extremely gluten/dairy intolerant here. I have a hard time with oats, even certified GF ones. I experience major bloating and inflammation if I eat too many. It's a fairly common cross reaction, from what I've read.
My kid is allergic to dairy and we can't send nuts to daycare. We use the Costco Oat Milk and I haven't gotten sick from the small amounts I consume. It's not certified GF, but it seems like an ok balance of price and safety here.
